And for that we can all get on bended knee and give thanks. Oft-ridiculed and highly-scrutinized running back Bryce Brown announced just moments ago that he will be attending Tennessee this fall. The announcement was broadcast live on KGSO-1410 in Wichita. (Bryce Brown & Entourage and Lane Kiffin together? On the same campus? The possibilities blow the mind.) Brown said that the decision came down to the Volunteers and the home state Kansas State Wildcats. The announcement, held at the Kansas Sports Hall of Fame as the Taj Mahal was unavailable, comes a little less than a month and a half after National Signing Day on February 4. Brown had verbally committed to Miami (Fla.) last year, but the Hurricanes withdrew their interest late last month. Since then, Brown and The Big Man Upstairs ? advisor Brian Butler ? had whittled his schools of choice down to Tennessee, LSU, Kansas State and Oregon. Since Signing Day, Brown had taken official visits to Knoxville and Baton Rouge. Early on in the process, Brown took official visits to Clemson, Oregon and Missouri. He also made an unofficial visit to Tennessee this past weekend ? which led to speculation that the Volunteers had become the front-runners ? as well as one to the Hurricanes earlier this year. Brown ran for nearly 7,000 yards during his high school career at Wichita East, and rushed for a combined 52 touchdowns in his junior and senior seasons.

Bryce Brown is a chump. I won't say this about many, but I really hope he becomes a massive and gigantic bust. Seriously, what a tool this kid is, thinking he's God's gift to football. I mean, if the Miami Hurricanes pull interest because you have too big of an ego, the Miami freaking Hurricanes, then you have a problem. Just having to follow this kid's recruitment over the past year since he verballed has been a never ending string of "you have to be kidding me"s. He's been the same way since his brother Arthur was entering his senior year, so much so that Arthur was really only considering schools that were also on Bryce's list. The difference is that Arthur seems to have a decent head on his shoulders (and should be starting at MLB next year) and little bro is a horse's ass. Before anyone says I'm just bitter because he picked Tennessee, I've understood that he wasn't going to be a Cane well before they told him to look elsewhere, and I'm more than happy with Mike James, Lamar Miller and Jakhori Gore (next year). Just go back and review his recruiting and you'll see all you need. His comments make Willie Williams seem like a quiet, reserved school boy.

Apparently, on his trip to Knoxville he wasn't really liking it, but then he "saw a sign" that made him choose the Vols. But he wouldn't even tell anyone what the sign was, just that it was the reason he chose Tennessee.
