Jets | Carroll re-signed Mon, 16 Mar 2009 15:34:15 -0700 The New York Jets have announced they have re-signed unrestricted free-agent CB Ahmad Carroll. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.
Excellent! I was worried they were gonna let him go. The one place we excelled last year was ST coverage and returns. This is something to keep going and he was a big part. Brad Smith, WW, Izzo, Ahmad are 4 guys who will bring you down at the 25 or less. Awesome signing!
It is what it is. He played well on STs, enough that when they re-evaluated him, he was able to earn a spot. At least Rex Ryan is going after/keeping guys who play the game fast -- something we sorely lacked under Mangini. So what CBs are officially on the roster? Revis, Shepphard, Lowery, Carroll. Anyone else? Is Drew Coleman still here?
A pure cover corner. Or pure penalty machine. Depends who you ask, but I dream of Rex Ryan making him live up to his initial hype.
Rex Ryan could bring out the best in him. Certain players get caught up in a system or an organization where they just dont flourish. If anyone knows DBs its Rex Ryan. Good solid signing.
I was hoping the Lito Sheppard deal meant the end of hopeless development projects at CB. Just forget about Carroll, he's had more than enough time to convert his impressive 40 time into something worthwhile.
