NJ Star Ledger: New York Jets monitoring Jay Cutler situation http://www.nj.com/jets/index.ssf/2009/03/new_york_jets_monitoring_jay_c.html
McDaniels better find a way to smooth things over or he will be run out of town within two years. Smart money says he will smarten up and kiss Cutlers ass enough to smooth things over. They cannot trade Cutler and won't.
Did you hear what went on the most recent meeting? Cutler went in with the mindset of letting bygones and be bygones, and McDaniels gave him no vote of confidence. At this point, I really don't think any amount of ass-kissing will make Cutler change his mind. The only reason the Broncos have been decent has been because of Cutler, so of course, he doesn't feel appreciated -- but now he feels under-appreciated AND skeptical; and even after he was willing to overlook the trade talk, McDaniels still came off as abrasive and untrustworthy. If he's still there this season, I'll be very surprised.
The house was going to be sold long before this whole fiasco started. Unrelated to his wanting to leave now.
No career passer rating. 0 playoff appearances. 0 touchdown passes. 0 seasons as a starter. Off of all that, cocky John Elway forced Baltimore to trade him. They granted his wish and he was sent to Denver.
Copied this from another site. Anyone else see or hear this? According to rumors on ESPN the Jets could be landing a deal as soon as tuesday that would send the rights of Brett Favre and Jets 2009 1st Round Pick and 2010 2nd and 3rd to the Broncos for Jay Cutler. if Favre decides to come out of retirement again he'd have Brandon Marshall,Eddie Royal,& Jabar Gaffney to throw to I DID NOT WRITE THIS COPIED OFF ANOTHER SITE.
Think it came from steelernation.....I haven't heard anything at all from espn but I would pull the trigger on this. Although I don't see why Denver would want Favre playing qb for them
I would go pick up Jay Cutler in Denver and bring him back for this price. Unfortunately, this is in no way true.
Can you link the site? I mean, this is kinda big news, considering Tuesday is tomorrow -- that's if the source has any merit to it.
The Favre part sounds like a farce, however, in the event he decides to come back, Denver would have the rights to him and could use him if their QB situation is unresolved. But that's where I'm skeptical, because how could/would they trade Cutler if they didn't have a plan at QB? Unless they think their pick, along with our #17, will get them the QB they want in this draft...
they could be planning on using multiple picks on defense, and using chris simms as the proverbial tuna " hold-the-fort" guy.
I found it on a few message boards but nothing even close to reliable. It's just some random person on the internet saying it as far as I can tell. I wouldn't put any stock into it. http://cookies.sportsline.com/mcc/messages/chrono/14068711 http://mbd.scout.com/mb.aspx?s=93&f=1801&t=4089486&p=2 EDIT: The same guy that started that thread also made this post: It makes sense in terms of the cap. If we made the trade that would prevent us from having to worry about cap space if Favre decided to come back.
If Cutler Talks His Way Out of Denver... This whinner will be worse than T.O. You guys think he has any real fire in his belly? The Broncos will demand a king's ransom and then you will have to pay the guy like he's actually worth it. Meanwhile, you have to worry whether he will stay physically stable, [how's his insulin therapy going?] and mentally stable as well [does the CS have to stay on pins and needles a la Denver for how long...?] Sounds like another magic fix for all that ails the NYJs -- just like that Packer Brett fella. Ya think?
