If the object is to leave a team to go to another team, why would you want the team you're going to end up on to have to over compensate the team you're leaving. The object is to get to another team get the best contract you can while doing the least damage to the team you're going to. In other words you have to force their hand and that's what Cutler is doing.

Denver's management screwed up by talking when they didn't have a deal, Cutler is simply playing the hand that Denver's rookie HC dealt him.

Oh my, that's extremely speculative to think Cassel is better.

And McDaniels is not off to a good start.

I'm against giving up a ton for a guy who is acting like a baby right now in Denver and has never been to the playoffs. Yes, it's a team game, his team was coached by Mike Shanahan and they still couldn't pull out one game in their last four to get in with him at the helm. Not to mention one of the games they did win he actually pissed away in the red zone and the officials gave it back to him. This is a guy who is going to "will us" to win what? The first time he's made fun of on the back of the Post he'll be crying to get out of here.

Right now I'll take my chances with Ratliff or Clemens, preferably Ratliff. I mean if Cutler comes I'll root for him like I did for Favre, but Ryan doesn't seem like the kind of guy who is going to worry about or go out on a limb for a QB like this. Just my thoughts.

Have you watched him play or are you just relying on stats?

I don't blame him why be with a team that doesn't want u? They wanted a guy who one season as a starter since HS on a great team and he didn't take them to the playoffs.

I dont blame Cutler 1 dam bit. The NFL is a business, loyalty is a thing of the past. Cutler feels scorned and the owner or head coach never even offered an apology. If the JETS can get him without giving away the farm it would be a good move.Otherwise im ok with Ratliff.

I know all of that. My point is that I don't want a player like that on the Jets. If he screws Denver, you know he will screw the Jets one day. I can't deal with that possibility. haha.

They will give up at least as much as we would and they draft much higher in every round and probably will continue that trend for at least a few years too. Cutler is a franchise caliber QB. Better than most of the QBs in the league. A lot of teams will give up a lot to get him. Even teams with a decent QB now.

I've watched him play. Hey, he lit up the Jets even. He should be the starter in Denver. He has a great future ahead of him. But if his new coach wants someone else, he shouldn't cry about it. He is being paid millions of dollars to play football.

That would be an absolute disaster for the Lions. They need way more than a QB. If they get him, the best thing they could do is trade him for picks.

Offer Denver a 2 round pick,Clemens and Thomas. Keep our 1st to grab a RB or WR.

I would agree but if we had to give up our 1st rd pick for him I would do it in a second.

People are missing my point I think. Basically I am saying:
    1. I don't want Cutler on the Jets.
    2. McDaniels can do whatever he wants. If he wanted Cassel, nothing wrong with that. Its a new regime in Denver. Maybe he doesn't like Cutler.
    3. Cutler has not been UNBELIEVABLE or anything in Denver. He has been good and his best years are in the future. I don't think he has earned the right to cry when McDaniels looked at other QB options.

That's it. I'm not saying he can't play, I don't think anyone is. I just don't see the wisdom in making some atrocious deal for a mostly unproven player who is showing a very thin skin and bring him to of all places New York.

Acquiring Cutler would give the JETS a QB with game experience a strong arm whos been decent in the NFL with a very shitty team. It would alleviate alot of the what ifs that will surround Ratliff,Clemens or Ainge who no one really knows can play or not. Clemens failed in my estimation in his brief stint at starting QB. Id much rather prefer not to go that route again. If it isnt Cutler take a chance on Ratliff....been there done that.

its his youth that makes him attractive. the kid is on the verge of becoming elite in this league. he has found success with very little help so far (shit D and weak O in denver). he has the balls, the intelligence, and the attitude it takes to win. and yeah it is a little alarming that hes whining so much about trade rumors but at least he has the balls to stand up to his unproven new coach who got there simply because he has a relationship with bellicheat. if im cutler i want out of there too.
