cutler can sell his house, and his mother, but that isn't going to force denver into a trade. denver is in the drivers seat here. he plays and gets paid, or nothing. they will not give up a franchise qb now that they can't get cassel. just ain't happening. anyone with common sense can see that...

say denver give's up their franchise qb. who do they get to take his place??? qb in the draft? hardly a proven commodity such as cutler!

so in essence, you want the bronco's to hand over cutler and become the present day jets.. a team going nowhere(for years to come) without a franchise qb.

why would denver do it????? jets fans WET DREAM?????

and so right away jets fans are thinking if denver did get stupid and trade cutler, the jets are the only team to get him!! even though there are many teams with more ammo to offer than what the jets presently have.

lions, two first round draft picks and a second which is so close to being first round, you could practically say 3 first rounders...

No way it would take 2 first rounders plus Clemens (2nd rounder) and Revis (worth at least a first), Harris (2nd rounder), or Jenkins (our defensive MVP).

Maybe 2 firsts, but nothing more than that IMO

Put down your 10th cup of coffee for the day!! Nowhere did I say he was going to the Jets...what I said was it's interesting that his parents have their house on the market too. So, it might point to the fact that Cutler might know more about this than you do, and he could be gone from Denver. Is he coming to New York??? NO! But if you're a fan of football, you would take interest in one of the better younger QB's in the league changing teams. THAT IS ALL.

he can sell his mom and pop, but that isn't going to change the fact he's not going anywhere other than denver... what incentive would denver have to trade him now?? his mother selling their house means nothing...

teams just don't dump franchise qb's. not in the real world.. cutler is pulling a tamtrum, so what!! denver isn't going to sell... i'd bet the bank on it.......

The Jets have nothing to offer and nothing to pay him with either.

they have plenty to offer and the cap room to pay him, its which one of our pieces is the most espendable to us. obviously cutler wont come cheap, and they are going to want some sort of athlete as well as picks in return. out of the guys listed before i say you give up harris. hes the most expendable in my eyes.

See keyboard, far left or right, it's called the shift key.

Has anyone checked the latest version of Madden to see what it would cost the Jets to get Cutler?

It is amazing how quickly things have spiraled out of control there since Shanahan left. I'm pretty sure at this point that there's something going on behind the scenes that is not apparent to us at this point.

I'm starting to wonder if this isn't really all about money on Cutler's part. He's in a golden position to renegotiate his deal coming off a career year and with a new head coach coming in, so any verbal agreements he had with Shanahan are off the table. So maybe he and Cook (how does Cook always wind up with squabbles between his QB clients and management?) approached the Broncos after Shanahan was let go and started pushing for a new deal. Maybe McDaniels didn't want to deal with that coming in the door and so he pushed for the Cassell deal knowing that Cassell was on the market? Maybe things have spiralled out of control at this point and everything is going to go blooey?

Inquiring minds want to know, and boy it's going to be fun watching this unravel over the next month leading up to the draft. I just hope we don't get stuck with the problem at a premium.

teams without a franchise qb go immediately to "also rans" and are destined to stay there until they aquire another franchise qb. so why in the hell would the bronco's shoot themselves in the foot and trade their future.

it's apparent to everyone with common sense that cutler is a whiny a$$ pussy, but that isn't going to force the bronco's to dump him. it would basically guarantee the bronco's the cellar of the afc west for the foreseeable future and then some.

the bronc's will do what they have to do to mend fences, the alternatives are unthinkable. unless your a jets fan and think the bronc's are just going to hand him over for clemens, lolllll......

I never said he was going to be traded to the JETS. But imagine a scenario where Denver acquires a 1st round selection when a top tier QB is still available. They would then bring in a veteran for 1-2 years and groom the rookie. Stranger things have happened.

I think you're right. I think he's going to go in a draft day trade to the Lions. They want a QB right now to throw to all those receivers, not a guy they have to groom for a year or two.

It's the perfect scenario: Cutler winds up on the team he's most suited to QB and Lions fans wind up momentarily happy until they realize they're screwed for most of the next decade.

I think your very close to the mark on this one. I was thinking that once Cutler (or his agent) heard that his coach even THOUGHT about bringing in another QB they said, "It's time to find out how much I'm really worth to this team." Is he still under his rookie contract? If so, he can make an S load of cash on the free market right now if he is let go. I truly feel that this is all a renegotiating tactic and he'll have an extension signed before training camp opens up.

Owner Pat Bowlen acknowledged Sunday that he's disappointed" in Jay Cutler and says the Broncos "might lose our star quarterback."
"I'm disappointed in the whole picture," Bowlen said, also confirming that he steadfastly supports coach Josh McDaniels' handling of the situation. Sources tell the Denver Post that Cutler won't show for offseason conditioning, and the paper suggests that he may even be asking for a new contract as a sign of "commitment." The Broncos have taken a hard-line approach this far, so it seems unlikely that Cutler would get that wish.

People need to keep in mind they were about to trade him for Matt Cassell, whos value turned out to be a 2nd rounder. A 1st and a 3rd (maybe along with a 6th, maybe Bryan Thomas) could do it.
