I guess our running game has diminished...????.... CMan, I think you are entering champ's stage of life.
It's hard to have a running game without even the threat of the pass...as it stands right now (and there's a lot of time between now and August) no team is even remotely scared of our passing game. They load up 8 (even 9) in the box force us into 3rd and 7's all year long. Even if we have some sort of 3rd down efficiency if you face 3rd and long numerous times throughout a game you'll end up leading the league in punts.
What a fool Holt is. He refused to redo his contract and thus nixed a trade to the Titans. You won't see him playing anywhere at that rate. http://www.nationalfootballpost.com/2009/03/sources-holt-to-titans-trade-fell-apart/
I would assume they will pursue him and land him in the end since they were willing to trade for him. They will come to a compromise.
Holt would get more balls thrown to him if he were to sign with the Eagles or Giants rather than the Titans. Plus, he'd be in a top TV market and we all know he is going to be an analyst after his playing career. Maybe those teams don't want him. The Titans have some good wideouts in Nate Washington and Justin Gage.
They don't need a star wideout. They are a run-heavy team. Besides, at this current time, I don't know that there is any dropoff from Holt to Gage.
Holt would've been a nice fit for the Pats on the other side from Moss. But it seems like Holt wants to be paid like a #1 receiver, and he's really a #2 at this stage of the game.
