Looking at this Draft, it seems to me that the Jets will really try to trade up from 52 to the early 2nd/late 1st. We have 2 great needs at WR and QB, and lesser ones at DE/OLB. With the way this class is shaping up, there's a good chance that one of Britt/Nicks will fall out of the first. If the Jets were to take Sanchez or Freeman, they could move 52 and 76 for a pick in the 33-40 range to grab the remaining receiver. If we sit at 52, only 2nd tier receivers like Robiskie, Iglesias, and Murphy will be there. Freeman will most definitely be gone by that point as well.

Or, they could take Britt/Nicks at 17 and trade up to the early 2nd to grab Freeman.

Either way, this seems like the most logical way for us to go.

I can't see Nicks falling past the Giants in the first round (geez...i hope he doesn't fall past us, I"m hoping we pick him).

Of course...sometimes the draft throws a few curveballs....i didn't expect Sam Baker to be taken in the first round last year...when there was a huge run on Olinemen in round 1. This allowed some of the 1st round graded wideouts to drop to the 2nd round (ie Devin Thomas). So your theory has merit......we'll have to wait and see.

I see us more then likely trading down with our 1st and then trading back up in early 2nd with what we get in trading down plus our 2nd. Can get Britt and Gilbert then.

He's tall, very athletic, and has a very strong arm -- that's about it at this point.

At K-State he rarely won games, but I'm not putting that on him - he wasn't surrounded with much talent. KS's ex-head coach Ron Prince basically turned that football program into a junior college program.

The main thing that I don't like about him is his decision making.

that's the dealbreaker right there for me. The last thing this team needs is another possible INT throwing machine. Thanks for the info, man.

I know hindsight is 20/20...but fuck...I wish we would've traded up for Matt Ryan last year....we really screwed the pooch on that one..../endrant.

If the Jets could get Sanchez in the 1st & trade up to get Britt in the 2nd LOCK IT UP!

he does have better "skill set" to go along with pocket presence, a cerebral QB (Clemens is not) and a work ethic comparable to Pennington, who, on his work ethic alone, is high praise. He did all of the drills at the combine to prove he's not a pretty boy USC QB.

The only thing he doesn't have it a lot of experience, and I heard he was a tad streaky at USC, but I won't hold that against him. He's a better prospect than Booty and Leinart, but below Palmer. If he stayed one more year and then came out he'd be in talks for top 10 QB with Tebow and Bradford.

I'd let him sit one year, maybe even 23 games until he's ready. It may pay dividends in the long run.

I'm not as crazed about him as I was Ryan or Rothlisberger coming out, but he intrigues me. He's not a bust QB if he sits one full year. I think worst case scenario he ends up like Jeff Garcia.

I see what might be the franchise QB we have been looking for forever & a guy who if he did not come out this year we would have no chance of getting him next year. We would have to trade up and I mean way up to get him.

Sanchez did all the drills, so what. Matt Ryan didn't do throwing drills at the combine, does that mean he sucks? Deion Sanders went to the combine, ran the 40 and went home, did he suck? Sanchez fans keep trying to formulate rational sounding explanations for why they like him, the truth is that they just have a feeling that he will be a great QB and a leader of men. Its just a feeling and maybe its right, but its still just a feeling.

Yeah, my second sentence answers what you just wrote. There is a label that goes with USC QBs, he wanted to break it.

Non-Sanchez fans need to stop downplaying shit to get their point across.

I'd take Hakeem nicks in the 1st and trade up for Jarron Gilbert if he's still around.

That would be a pretty awesome draft. It would really help out Clemens.

I think we'll take Nicks in the 1st and then a DL in the second by moving up a bit...

    Wrong.

    3 needs.

    WR.

    DE.

    NT.

(a young raw corner to groom would be nice, but a late round project type..)
