For anyone interested in finding out a little more about this guy, Total Access is doing something on him tonight... I just saw the commercial.

Sometimes their coverage is surface stuff that a lot of the draft guys on here will already know but for others it may be worth checking out.

There's a good chance it will be on NFL.com tomorrow as well as they usually post all the best spots from NFL Network to the website.

Sanchez is going to be the hype bunny between now and the draft, just like Vince Young was in 2006. I'm starting to think he could be the 1 pick if Stafford does not really impress at his pro day. Throwing at the combine was a very savvy move by Sanchez. He put his goods out there for people to see and nobody has anything else to talk about in the QB conversation until the pro days start to roll in.

I agree .... IMHO niether one of these guys ( Sanchez / Stafford ) will EVER make it as a Quality Long Term Starter in the NFL ... Just don't think either has the tools ... Thats just my 2 cents

I grew up in Staten Island New York but for the last 6 years I live in Holmdel New Jersey. 1 town over from me is Middletown New Jersey Moreno went to school there I used to watch his games. So he went on to college I watched the Bulldog games to follow his career. I have watched almost all of the Bulldog games for the last 2 years & I think Stafford is going to be good.

That does not really make it so.

QB's in the first round, irrespective of collegiate careers are a coin flip.

These are the two best prospects, chances are, one will become a starter, the other will fizzle out.

Its more about numbers than it is about overanalysis of their skill sets. At this point, you know just about everything you are going to know about either of them.

All that being said. I would be happy with a coinflip on Sanchez. Nothing is a sure thing and I am not sold on the current guys we have in the lineup. If we dont go Sanchez I want Tyson Jackson.

I don't know anything about Sanchez but Vince Young is not accurate and he doesn't seem to have the composure to make the right decision when plays break down. He is still too quick to leave the pocket...and I don't study their film but I imagine these things cause him to miss out on making plays.

yeah I really don't get this quote... if you say something like that, AT LEAST back it up.

Out of Stafford and Sanchez, I think Sanchez is the better prospect. Of course Stafford is number 1 due to the fact that Sanchez didn't have much experience in the college level and Stafford does have the bigger arm.
However, Sanchez has good pocket awareness and is mobile enough to shift around in there if he senses the incoming blitz. Very good in the play action and can make the throws while on the run. Has a very good arm for the long distance throw and very good accuracy for the short ones. He has all the tools. The only scary thing is that when USC plays other college team, they are always on another level in terms of being athletically skilled, so that can make Sanchez really good at what he does...
nonetheless he is still a very solid prospect and if he's at the 17, I would take a long, detailed look at him.

Do you think that if we draft Sanchez and play a muddy game somewhere, there will be a headline somewhere the next day that says "Dirty Sanchez"???

This was being asked about Sanchez and Stafford, not Young. :)

Sanchez has very few holes at this point. He's not as tall as you'd like a franchise QB to be at this point at only 6'2.4" and there are some questions revolving around him only having a single season at the NCAA level to judge him by.

Stafford is not as accurate as you'd like in a franchise QB and he's also shorter at 6'2".

Those are the basic questions. Stafford is not as good a prospect coming out as Brady Quinn was in 2007. Sanchez is only better if you fully weight his single season as completely representative of his skills.

Thinking about it I do not believe that Stafford is going to go #1. He just does not have the skill set and physical talents that go along with that designation and he doesn't have the buzz either. Sanchez doesn't either so it will be interesting to see the do-si-do that Detroit, St. Louis, Seattle and San Francisco go through in the top 10 before a QB is taken, and which one it will be.

This draft is starting to remind me a bit of the Alex Smith-Aaron Rodgers one. Neither of the prospects are #1 material but the team at the top is sooooo desperate that one could be taken there anyway. Alex Smith might well have slid out of the top 10 if San Francisco did not take him. Aaron Rodgers got down to 24.

There are 2 differences that Stafford and Sanchez have. Stafford has a gun for an arm. Sanchez doesn't. Just look at his throws at the combine especially the side line throws. Stafford could make all the throws. The second difference Stafford had 39 games where Sanchez had 16. They both erractic with their accuracy but this hopefully can be taught with a good QB back coach. So I feel Stafford has much more of an upside than Sanchez thats why Stafford is a first rounder and Sanchez is a 3rd round. If Stafford is available with the 17 pick I would pick him. Sanchez will be a bust if you pick him with this pick. I personally think he will be a journeyman in the N.F.L and never a 1st tere QB.

I'd rather have Kellen or Ratliff than Sanchez, if they both of them end up terrible, I'll hope for a stronger draft class of QBs next year.

A savy move by Sanchez? How so? He looked like turd dressing at the combine.

I don't see how anyone could think any QB in this draft is better than Aaron Curry. The chances of Curry not being a pro bowler are so small, even with a Carson Palmer like QB prospect there is so much uncertainty.

Those are pretty strong words a 3rd pick wow! I know a lot of people dislike Sanchez around here but damn.

Personally, if either is there at 17 it's a tempting pick and I wouldn't knock the FO for pulling the trigger. However, I think this team is just a few pieces away from contending (WR, DL depth more than anything) so a first round pick on a QB may not help us right away. If we do draft an early round QB, I'd see us cutting or trading Ainge and/or Clemens and signing Leftwich so if we decide to sit Sanchez/Stafford, at least he'd be watching a veteran
