At my school they randomly test I think and if a player is suspended for breaking "unspecified team rules" its usually a failed drug test (from what I hear from my friends that work with the team and overhear the coach talking to the players). It's not that hard to pass a drug test tho, especially for pot A lot of times too they just sweep a failed test under the rug depending on the player
My thick head? You put Gholston in that group for what reason exactly? Please do tell all of us what he did for the Jets last year to deserve your praise.
Vilmatic, all I want to know is if ur still pissed that Rex Ryan used a power point presentation in his job interview!
I know that Rex runs a complicated defense that shows 4-3 looks from time to time, but I still think that VG belongs on a team that runs the 4-3 full time so he can play 4-3 DE. Like a lot of people said at draft time, the Rams and Jets should have switched players. I know that Chris Long had a VASTLY better rookie season than VG, but I still think Long would be better as 3-4 OLB and VG just has to be moved to DE, he's hopeless as a LB.
I never praised him. I'm on record saying he played like crap. But I haven't and won't write him off yet. You're always bitching about the money he's making. And now you're assuming because he got paid, he has no desire to make strides. That's pretty presumptuous, isn't it? Did Gholston admit this to you himself?
Exactly. I read some info that said in the 1980's there were 2-3 players that weighed over 300lbs. Now there are a ton of players that weigh over 300lbs. Who knows how many drugs are being used in the NFL.
i think ALL nfl players making over $1m per year should be REQUIRED BY LAW to roid up and snort coke. or whatever drug makes them insane on the field. don't wanna pay $100 per ticket to watch some premadonnas. i want broken bones.
yep, i said the same thing. But the difference is Chris Long is a football player, Gholston is an athlete.
Thanks for participating, people. I'll address a few questions with regard to things I brought up, though I'm probably a day past anyone caring. Vernon and the immense physical advantage I see: faster than most LBs, stronger than most DLs, I call that an immense physical advantage. Personally, I don't see any signs of steroid use or HGH in Vernon. His frame is rock solid, not yoked up. The mass is smooth and well-distributed, not bulky and centralized on the muscle. I must admit, I failed to address in the money factor into my Ghlston analysis, but if he is the person I believe him to be then it shouldn't affect him. He has struiggled in the past and has overcome it due to his work and dedication, in my estimation because of his pride (in a good sense). I think those are qualities in a person that will remain whether there is money involved ot not. No, I was never pissed about the powerpoint, I just worried that we were blinded by science. But yo SCottso - good looking out to remember that was me, whether or not you were suggesting that I needed to stop posting post-wake and bake. And Kerry Rhodes the cokehead: had no idea that would take off like it did, but I went to college, I went to grad school, I know lawyers and doctors and I knew them when they were trying desperately to graduate. In short, I've known a few cokeheads. Not addicts, really, so much as people who wanted/needed to succeed in the short term and would do whatever it took to get it, ultimate consequences be damned. The dilated eyes that look everywhere but you, the greasy eyelids, the wet lips you keep licking because they feel so dry and the inflamed nostrils that you keep wiping because you're wondering if its totally obvious that you are flying. Now, I have NO evidence that Kerry Rhodes is a cokehead and if I had to bet money on it, I doubt I'd bet over $100, but I've seen him, twice, look exactly like I described and so I said it, more as a throwaway than anything. And finally, are you all telling me that NO ONE is familiar with vaporizers?
So now all doctors and lawyers are cokeheads? I resent that (I'm only half kidding, I know that's not what you said, but still). Anyway, I have nothing to add. I just love dogpilling on the Gholston sucks bandwagon. And if the defense is only about to get more complicated in schemes, then what the fuck can we expect him to do next season? 2 special teams tackles?
