Nice seeing possessed on that list, seven churches is a classic! My band actually did a short tour with them about a year ago, jeff beccerra is one of the nicest guys youll ever meet. The first deicide album is great too. Ill post my top ten of the top of my head, though im going to be leaving a lot out but whatever... in no particular order at all: 1.Obituary-Cause of Death (cant go wrong with slowly we rot either) 2.Morbid Angel-Altars Of Madness 3.Death-Symbolic 4.Opeth-My arms your hearse(still life too, hell, all opeth is superb) 5.Napalm Death-Harmony Cortuption (enemy of the music business is a more modern napalm death release that is truly amazing) 6.Cryptopsy-None So Vile (once was not is great more modern one, amazing stuff on that album) 7.Emperor-In the Nightside Eclipse 8.Judas Priest-British Steel 9.Celtic Frost-Morbid Tales 10.Wolves in the Throne Room-Diadem of 12 Stars this list would probably be half different tomorrow just according to whatever state of mind im in and due to my shitty memory, but these are all albums I would hope to never live without when it comes to the vast genre of metal. also if you get a chance check out some of my bands... myspace.com/beneaththereddawn (new material on the way, if you like what you hear keep checking back) myspace.com/gatestothemorning (my solo stuff, new material is on the way, the full length song on there is very outdated) myspace.com/deercarcassthrash (i just joined the band so im not on any of the recordings as of yet) myspace.com/epicgodsofwar (true primitive epic power metal, self explantory, kind of a parody band, but we dont fuck around when it comes to middle earth)
Iron Maiden -Killers -Number of the Beast -Piece of Mind -Powerslave -Seventh Son of a Seventh Son Metallica -Kill Em All -Master of Puppets Judas Priest -Screaming for Vengeance Megadeth -Rust in Peace -Countdown to Extinction
I'll add Brave New World and A Matter of Life and Death by Maiden, Ride the Lightning and ...And Justice for All by Metallica and Peace Sells....But Who's Buying to Megadeth to this list for me. I've got other metal bands that I listen to (Judas Priest, Dream Theater, etc.), but classic Metallica, Megadeth, and Maiden are where it's at for me. QFT
I listened to your band Beneath the Red Dawn. I like it a lot. Your singer sounds like a cross between the singer from Dead to Fall and Chris Barnes from Cannibal Corpse/Six Feet Under. Just out of curiosity what do you do in the band? You can check out this post if you wanna check out my old band Redline. We were more of a hardcore/metalcore band though. We were together from 99 to 04 and the highlight of our career was doing a tour with Hatebreed in Europe for a month in 03. http://forums.theganggreen.com/showpost.php?p=1173397&postcount=23 I had to make this thread because people were questioning my screen name after I started an American Idol thread haha. I like your list of albums and I should have included Morbid Angel's Altar of Madness on my list but didn't think of it. Also The End Complete is my favorite Obituary album although Cause of Death is a favorite of mine too. I don't have that Cryptopsy album but I have Whisper Supremacy and that album is awesome. Your list make's me wonder how you would feel about some of the newer death metal type bands out there now like Through The Eyes of the Dead, The Black Dahlia Murder and Born of Osiris. If you like those older bands I think you'd really dig these three bands.
Was never too big of a Priest fan. The changes I would make to your list is I would add And Justice for All to the top of your Metallica list and I would replace Countdown to Extinction with So Far So Good So What on your Megadeth list.
