I really didn't think Pouha was THAT bad... Am I mistaking by thinking he was an OK rotational NT?

Ok, think about it this way. The last 8 games of the season, Jenkins was clearly fatigued and injured. Pouha had to come in for Jenkins alot more. How did the defense perform the 2nd half of the season? How was the run blocking?

And if he was half way decent, would they have had to keep Jenkins in as much as they did (which led to Jenkins becoming injured and overly fatigued)? Asking a big guy like Jenkins to play 3 downs every serious all year is asking alot.

Pouha was no where near OK, just the best we could get at the time. If he is on the team next year, it is going to be a problem again. Then again Ryan might be able to work a miracle, but I doubt it.

I don't know how much he wore down as in tired, but he was injured. He was playing with a herniated disk in his back and a hip injury down the stretch.

Can we just kick Pouha off the squad? If nothing else, I won't have to listen to Ian Eagle go out of his way to pronounce is BO OOOH HAH the one or two times per game when his name is actually called.

Pouha was one of thoes guys who was talked up as having a lot of potential.

Not everyone lives up to their potential.

How much would this guy cost? We have to get more help at NT if Jenkins is going to play a full season

I am thinking that I would like to give a few of these so call fringe players on our own squad a chance to be coached up by this new group that has come in.

Let's face it Mangini was very conservitive on defense and may have really hindered the development of some of these guys like Pouha and Elam and even Lowery..

I would be more then happy to hold on to them and let Rex and his crew have a look at these guys during the offseason program, OTA's and Mini camps. Then if they are unhappy with what they see then offer them up for trade or cut them out right to allow room for players they feel will make the final squad...

We need to have depth at NT and at DE.
DeVito is a joke. And C.J. Mosley is gone.

Pouha is also a joke. The dropoff in talent from Jenkins to Pouha is huge. There is a difference between depth and quality depth. And NT is too important a position to screw aroudn with.
