T.O. is a great Wide Receiver, no doubt. But is that enough to bring a cancer into the locker room. I don't think so. It's not like Reggie Jackson where he's the straw that stirs the drink. Owens is the drink that sinks the ship I want to be proud of this team. Bringing Owens in doesn't help any in the pride category. If the Jets got him for free, I would question the move!
Am I the only one that thinks that Owens to the Patriots is a lock. They are looking for another wideout and Bellicheck has had success with me-first players (Harrison-Moss-Dillon)
I know I am late to the party, but the last thing this team needs is TO or Herm Edwards, nevertheless both of them. thank God none of you have anything to do with the Jets beyond being a fan and posting on a Jets board.

Actually, try logic. The Patriots (or more specifically Belichick) has a track record of managing strong / disruptive personalities. The Patriots are looking for another wideout. I am also guessing they are looking to make Brady's comeback as easy as possible. Outside of maybe the Crazy Al in Oakland, there really only two teams out there that I think that would be potential destinations. NE and JAX (Fox's job is on the line this season and the WRs are poor). And I think TO would rather get balls from Brady than Garrard. Consider the teams that need WRs and could be contenders (i.e. criteria for the team wanting Owens and vice versa) -- NYG (already not interested in TO), MIN (tried to get Housh, already not interested in TO), PHI (tried to get Housh, no chance), NYJ (no QB), WAS (not interested) So, before you go making comments about other people's fears or insecurities try thinking. Besides, why would anyone have those feeling about a sports team?
Don I'm with ya. Of course I'd rather have the guy mowing my lawn for 9 million a year rather than NOT have him...I think Jerry is making a mistake, and I'd keep Owens if I was Dallas. But if Dallas is saying "He's too much of a headache and we want to move forward with Roy Williams as our Flanker."...Then I can easily understand that... To me it looks like Dallas is done in free agency, especially with this move...So in 2010 when free agency looms, they won't have 9million of Owens on the books...And will have freed that up by outright releasing him now.
yes, it is logical that TO would love nothing more to play second fiddle to Randy Moss, and even third fiddle to Wes Welker. the guy complains he doesn't get the ball thrown enough to him when he is the number 1 receiver and leads the team in receptions, I'm sure that isn't a by product of his ego and he has simply been absent of an environment that can help him learn the value of being a team player. logic would require you to actually include TO in your analysis of where he may play, not just Bill Belichick.

by your logic, teams should never cut players and take a cap hit because they are always better off getting that value from the player rather than nothing.
I'm convinced you only post and don't read people's responses or rebuttals to your statements. WE...DON'T...HAVE...A...TOM...BRADY...FOR QB. We could very well draft a young WR this year, that will be a TEAM player and will have YOUTH on his side and build upon that. Why you want to bring a guy that's 35 that is notorious for destroying franchises is beyond me.
he's 35 and droped a lot of big passes last year even without the lockerroom issues, he isn't as great as everyone thinks he is anymore
No I would not want TO, as has been stated above he is a cancer in the locker room. Notwithstanding the fact that he can make plays, I do not think he is worth the trouble that he would undoubtedly start. Considering the fact we don't know who will be throwing the ball for us next year why would bringing him here be a consideration knowing how he complains about not getting the ball. No thanks....
To be honest I could careless if he gay as long as he does his job on the field is the only thing I care about.
