Im not positive whether they would or wouldn't but i dont think its too unreasonable...I mean we would get a legit number 1 and with wrs as boldin cotchery keller stuckey clowney our young qbs will have no excuse to do poorly and it will make it easier to decide whether ratliff clemens or even ainge is the real deal. I would make this trade in a heartbeat but who knows if boldin is still unhappy with warner resigning. I think he just wants his money like everyone else...
Hypothetically speaking: Yes. Not even a question. What's great about Boldin is that he turn short dump offs/intermediate passes into big plays. This is especially good since we have two young QBs competing for the starting spot..
ya but i havent heard specific questions about it or a fair tradeproposal..in the other threads we have idiots talking about 4th rounders and 3rd for him LOL
http://forums.theganggreen.com/showthread.php?t=42734 ^^^ I posted that on page 1. It's the basic premise of your thread.
For the Jets, Boldin is a no-brainer. However I'm not sure that just our 1st pick will be enough to induce AZ to lose one half of the most potent WR combo in the league.

You're going to have to dangle a whole fistfull of picks in front of AZ for them to even return the phone call.
Boldin is not going anywhere. Now they have have Warner back they've got a chance to make another run at a title this year.
I'm gonna have to agree with you. Boldin wants to be paid what Fitzgerald is getting per year 4 years/40 mil. But I bet he'll take less now to play with Warner again. Bidwells are cheap and Boldin did sign a contract not to long ago so he should honor it.
I don't see the point. Cotch is a Boldin type player... Boldin is also getting up there in age. We should draft a WR and groom him.
But if we sign a speed receiver, they would be Clowney and Stuckey type players.. They're similar in that they're tough and don't have elite speed, but then again Fitzgerald is tough and doesn't have elite speed and he and Boldin form a solid tandem I'd say. Boldin getting up there in age? He's only entering his 7th season and will turn 29 in October. He still has a lot of good years left in him. As for grooming a receiver, that wouldn't make sense since we really need a starter opposite Cotchery NOW especially since Coles is now a Bengal. Some - not me personally - said we needed a starter before Coles was released. Grooming a receiver isn't the way to go. We need someone who can come in and start from Day 1. This is why taking a WR in the first round should be our top priority..
29 is pretty old... I mean.. you start to lose a step around that time. As far as Fitz not having elite speed.. .well, for his size he is one fast mofo... not many WRs in the league can split the Steeler D like he did in the SB. This isn't going to be a pass heavy offense anyway... so there will be time to bring in a WR from teh draft and groom him. Look at the Steelers... S. Holmes was groomed and Hines Ward is the Cotch like guy that they have... You don't necessarily need a prototypical big #1 stud type of WR . If you have a very good D and a solid run game you can get far in the playoffs. I think it would be good to draft a WR in the 1st or 2nd round but to trade for Boldin and somehow accommodate the monster contrac that he would command just doesn't make much sense. Now if we're talking about Fitz, then that's a different story.
