I'm not sure, but I really hope that the US brings it home and thats the reason why I bet my last 50 on the team from the US of A, lol
There's hardly any value on the favorites in these things. The double-single elimination format increases the crapshoot factor ten-fold. Fading the US and DR is probably money in the bank cause those are all shaded lines. Japan imo, they have the pitching to do it and the value is there. Mexico at 15:1 looks tempting too.
 at South Africa being 100/1. They have no chance. I'd give you 200/1 they won't win. Value on Cuba and Japan, IMO. I would not touch DR or USA in this. I won't be watching it, but it's still fun to take advantage of what I think are weak betting lines. I just wish there was a way to bet against DR, USA, and South Africa winning.
I suppose I could care less. I just don't. As long as DR doesn't win. I wouldn't want ARod to ruin a perfectly good streak of bad luck with a championship.
top teams in 2006 (same pool of countries this year) were Japan, Cuba, South Korea, the Dominican Republic, and Puerto Rico. South Africa was the worst team, and they probably will be once again. Fair betting odds would probably be 500/1.
I'll be in San Diego so I'll get to see Japan, Korea/Chinese Taipei, Mexico and Cuba. I wish they would do this like the World Cup and mix all the teams up. I'd love to see a group of death with USA, DR, Korea and Venezuela. Honestly you seed the US, DR, Japan and Korea so they can't be in the same group and then go balls out of a hopper. They should just move the Asia bracket to the States or Canada and then let them all sort it out. As for the winner, I like Korea and Cuba as dark horses but I wouldn't be the least bit surprised to see Taiwan take out Korea. Their not gonna win the whole thing but to see them make a cinderella like run is not out of the question.
I don't like the WBC its not real baseball why do they control the pitch count until they make it like a real mlb game I wont watch it.
They have a pitch count because it's spring training. Unless you want to see pitcher after pitcher blowing out their arms, a pitch count in March is pretty necessary.
Punctuation is your friend. I think the WBC is pretty lame, but that's because I get to watch my hometown team play every year. I can see how it's pretty cool for other countries, though.
I agree with you on that one P.S...GL this year with the Red Sox because one thing is for sure...With the Yankees, Rays and Red Sox...The AL East makes for an exciting season here in 09.
Oh yeah Taiwan plays tonight/Friday morning against Korea, this is essentially the game who will determine who will move on with Japan. It's a huge game for Taiwan.
Nope, lol, but I think we will repeat as AL East Champions for the 2nd year in a row and on a side note...Go team US of A!
