I really liked what I saw from him last season, hold his ground and created a nice push from time to time. What?s not to like about him as a cheap backup?
I always liked CJ and wished the team could have gotten more out of him. I wish the Jets would start stockpiling young, talented DL instead of giving them up . . .
I've always thought he was underrated even before he came to the Jets. My question is, how backs up Jenkins now, besides Pouha, who I'm not a big fan of?
Likely a midround draft pick. There are a few big bodies coming out who look to drop down into the 3rd and below. Of course, Pouha had good size coming out of college, and we're still waiting for that to pan out.
What the hell is your deal with hating this guy so much? The way you post about him you'd think he personally did something to you. He always looked like a solid player in the rotation. I even recall seeing him make a couple nice plays behind the line of scrimmage.. No reason to dump him unless we find someone better.. Hell even if we do draft or sign a free agent 3-4 DE, I'd like to have him around as the 4th end. It's not like he's eating much cap room or anything..
I hate to sound ignorant but a Christian missionary just doesn't have the mean streak needed for a d-lineman.
Terrance Taylor and Dorell Scott are likely to go in the mid to late rounds, although Taylor was projected before the season to be a 1st or 2nd rounder. I think he slips after this past season. I've heard things about Louis Ellis and Sammie Lee Hill, but both are small school guys, so I haven't seen them play. Don't know much about them.
How about Roy Miller from Texas. He looks like a legitimate 3-4 NT prospect and might very well be around in the 4th round..
