Jags likely to add defensive tackle. Look for the Jacksonville Jaguars to sign nose tackle C.J. Mosley Tuesday. Mosley is due in Jacksonville for a visit, and the team usually signs players when the arrive.Mosley is 25-year-old backup nose tackle for the New York Jets, who is one of those players that has his best football in front of him. At 6-2, 310 pounds, he isn't a huge tackle but he has a lot of strength. The Jaguars struggled inside last season when Marcus Stroud was traded and John Henderson didn't play well. Rob Meier, who took over as the starter for Stroud, was a disappointment.Mosley will come in and compete for a job. There was also a report that the Jaguars had Eagles tackle Tra' Thomas in town for a visit, but that was not true. > http://peteprisco.blogs.cbssports.com/mcc/blogs/view/6315047
I actually liked him. He subbed well at times and I'll never forget him when he played against his former team and was allowed to play and got a sack... Thanx CJ! GL
Agreed. I remember one preseason he went on a tear and looked so good at times. I wanted to keep him for depth, because he is so young, wouldn't of put a burden on the cap. I really liked Mosely, much more than I like Sione Pouha
nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo come back, you knew how to rush from the 5 technique as a 3-4 DE! we need you!
Yeah, it was against the Eagles, I believe. Something like 3 sacks on straight snaps. He made Max Jean Gilles look silly. I was laughing my ass off.
Whenever he had an opportunity he performed at a fairly high level. I wouldn't be surprised if he becomes a solid starter in Jacksonville...
Yeah CJ I will miss you. I remember when we finally got him I was glad, I wanted NYJ to draft him but we got him maybe 2 years after he was cut. Solid backup.
It's becoming a numbers game now. There are currently 51 signed players, 52 if Leonhard signs. Still have the draft picks so obviously even some of those currently on the roster will have to go somewhere.
Too bad, somebody wrote on this board that Mosley hated living in the NY area. I think that had to be the main issue with resigning him because he deserved to be resigned. Good luck to CJ.
I look for the Jets to try and draft a 3-4 NT, a project type, in the mid rounds. Mosely is better suited to a 4-3 DT one gap defense. He played well at times, but he never commanded a double team, which is a must for a 3-4 NT. Pouha never developed as I had hoped he would. I think he just lacks meaness, aggressiveness and competitive fire. He has the size and strength for it. Mormons just aren't mean people.
when mosley dropped down as dt in the 4-3 and was isolated against Mankins he made him his bitch. That was awesome.
Yes. I liked him. But I think he?s much better suited as 43 DT than a 34 DE. I can see him become a solid Starter for the Jags.
