Michael Clayton resigns with the Bucs for 5 years, 26 mil??? Are the Bucs kidding?? He has 9 career TD receptions in 5 seasons. SEVEN of those were in his rookie year. He also totaled 1193 yards that year, and hasn't broken 500 in the last 4 seasons, and hasn't broken 400 in 3 of those 4. Do they know something I don't???
Michael Clayton might be the best blocking wideout in the league. Joey Galloway and Ike Hilliard are on their way out, if not out already. Those are the arguments for the contract. I think Clayton is a pretty good player and would have liked the Jets to have signed him but not at that much money.
.....i don't think anyone really said he sucked, but for that money the bucs completely overpaid i think his lack of development had a little more to do with an injury in his 2nd season and then spending the remaining years in Gruden's doghouse...not to mention the lack of qb in Tampa but whatever the excuse...no way he warrants that kind of money
Yeah, the contract seems excessive. He must grade out exceptionally well. You would think they could have signed him for 5 years, 16 mil, though. Ehh, who knows.
Didn't know that, but WRs aren't paid that kind of money to not catch the ball haha. It's making me want to draft him again in fantasy football even though everything tells me he gets under 500 yds again haha.
Want really dumb contracts: DeAngelo Hall to a six-year, $55 million contract. The Texans handed Orlovsky more than $3 million a year
I'm pretty sure part of that number is actually a return on his box office performance a little over a year ago: http://us.imdb.com/title/tt0465538/business
