So you think Sanches is the second coming of Manning. Why? bacause of one year of College playing for a team that would have won if I was the QB. He ain't as good as Leinard and that is not saying much. Screw Sanchez. So Flacco was a fluke but Sanchez is the bomb. Clement is better than Sanchez
Correct, and still am opposed to trading up for him. We could have selected anyone else and I would have been happier than getting Gholston. I wanted Kenny Phillips at #6, and guess what, it looks like he might have been our other starting safety. What would we not have today if we traded up to grab Matt Ryan? Think about it that way. Don't get me wrong, I like Matt Ryan a lot now, and had a ton of doubts about him, but there's no reason to trade up unless there's a sure thing there. Sanchez? Not a sure thing. I don't want Stafford either.
Who knew that Clemens was going to become so popular on the Jets, especially after he was awarded the worst QB rating in the league. It's almost like some Jets fans have some sort of a psychological disorder that makes them appreciate failure. Maybe I'm wrong about Clemens. Maybe he'll turn out to be something more than a hot dog vender. But so far he has not done one damn thing to warrant all of the jubilation over his sorry self. Find a cure for your disease, because pretty soon Clemens is gonna be out of the NFL, and you will need to get some help at a facility somewhere
you're right, he hasn't done anything spectacular... but it doesn't make sense when you post trade up for someone who has done the exact same... nothing... and you post it as if no one shares my opinion of him being a huge bust potential... you're clueless really
Someone else said that I thought Sanchez was the second coming of Christ, so at least you're not raising the stakes so high. I said Flacco was a fluke, because rarely do you have a rookie come in and go so far. That's all. I was concerned that Coach Rex may be resting on the fact that this happened and may not want to bring someone else in at the position. But I don't envision that scenario happening. I do believe that the Jets will have Sanchez or Stafford, depending on who is available at that time. The Jets could have signed a free agent. They didn't and it doesn't look like they're going to. The Jets need to get a QB, whether it's for now or later. If they go into the draft, they're not going to want to get someone that is below the two first rounders. That's pretty much what they have with Ainge. They're going to get one of the top two, whether people like the idea or not. I do think, though, when they announce that they picked Sanchez, all of the Jets fans attending the draft will be going crazy chanting his name.
How can you possibly condemn him based on a quarterback rating when you're aware of the offensive linemen he played behind? His QB rating was that much worse because he took a few risks and tried to make something out of nothing. He won 3 games out of 8 and put the team in position to win a couple more. I'm sure you'd rather have Pennington, though, because even though he got us nowhere, he had the better QB rating. Here's a fun fact for you.. Troy Aikman had a 55.7 QB rating his first year in the league and didn't win a single game and went on to lead the Cowboys to 3 Super Bowls.
I'm not clueless. Anyone is a potential bust. I loved the Jets pick of Kellen Clemens. Ron Jawarski said he was possibly the best QB in the draft and that he was a huge sleeper. But now I understand that Clemens was a bust. I was wrong. I've been wrong before that too. And GMs and coaches are wrong many times too. It's all a crap shoot. But if Sanchez is there, I think there's too much good that could come of it to let him pass by. He's not a gamble like Gholston was. He's got great skills, and I hope and believe the Jets will take a chance on him.
here's a fun fact Aikmen was the #1 pick in the draft, clemens was a 2nd round pick. Not saying that means Clemens cant be a good QB but he doesn't have the potential Aikmen had. He should be given a chance this year though.
Let's not move onto "next." Big Ben was one of the best QBs in college football, then played 2 full seasons as a starter. Brett Ratliff was a nondescript college player who's appeared in 0 regular season games. How can you not see the difference??
Clemens was a 2nd round pick because he was injured his senior year. He was a very good QB for Oregon.
Again, Clemens hasn't done anything to gain your support of him. The last we saw of him, he was sucking up in pre-season, and undrafted Ratliff was kicking his ass all over the field. What the hell would make you such a fan of his that you would use him as your avatar? Question: When Clemens is out of the NFL beginning this season, will you change your avatar?
Yes, but he would not have been the #1 pick if he was healthy. He was healthy throughout the draft process too, he just missed part of his last season. I get the point of you post and it makes sense, Peyton had an awful record his 1st year too, he just is not in that class of prospect they were not sleepers. Didn't mean to get at you either, came off wrong my bad
^ It's cool. Yeah, I'm not saying he's the second coming of Johnny U, just that he deserves the opportunity to prove himself.
What a brilliant idea. Lets trade up for a QB who is likely to be there at 17 anyway. Talk about getting value. I dont think we are even going QB in the 1st. It's looking more and more likes its going to be a WR.
Chad vs Clemens Chad vs heavy doors Favre vs Chad Favre vs retirement Clemens vs Ratliff Clemens vs unknown rookie Ainge vs his own irrelevance FML
Lets look at it realistically, this year the qb class is pretty much Stafford and Sanchez then a big drop off to Josh Freeman and then an even bigger drop off to the rest of the class. I say the way the team is built we can afford not to have a qb especially considering when next year Bradford, McCoy, Sneed, and Robinson will be available in 2010. all look alot better than the consensus top 4 qb available in this draft
Im always right  Actually, I dont think anyone in the 1st round is really worth is this year. Sanchez seems a bit too cocky, and Stafford is pretty good, but likely to be gone. Lets be realistic, the QB's that were going to be 1st round picks decided to go back to school. At that point, Sanchez would have been a late 1st, early 2nd round pick. The QB position is pretty weak this year. Jeremy Maclin, Hakeem Nicks, or a trade down for Kenny Britt. Im not sold on Harvin as a potential #1. Fuck Hayward Bey, hes got hands of stone.
