Maybe but Cutler has definitely thrown it 90 yards and has thrown it 60 yards from his knees. Think about that for a second.
I hate that offenses now just aren't balanced at all. You can't have a ball control offense that can stretch the field anymore (or vice versa). It's gotta just be because talent is too watered-down now. Goddammit, I want an offense that can control the ball when it wants to and stretch the field when it wants to. I can't think of a team out there that's that good at that.

cause weve adressed the Defense through free agency, looks like we'll probably pickup another 3 down TE to compliment Keller (hopefully LJ Smith or Robert Royal) the rest of our picks need to be used for DL dept, a WR, LB Depth, and OL depth. our team looks great on paper now but if one player goes down were fucked, we need to keep our draft picks, thats why, IMO.

I agree and ive been saying it Byron Leftwich will be on the JETS roster in 2009. Im not saying hes the starter on opening day.
I still don't get this fascination with Leftwich. What has he done, that would lead anyone to believe that he can do for the Jets what he's failed to do on every other team he's played for. I understand they want ball control and game management, but why not just use who we have to accomplish that? We don't need to bring in a 3 time failure to do that. We have guys that haven't failed....yet.
No fascination at all with Byron Leftwich. Hes veteran insurance policy nothing more. All teams like to have a fall back like him just in case.
We need a QB..we need to spend money and picks on offense. Otherwise opposing defenses will just stack the box against the run on every down. Enough has been spent on defense already,
Personally, in that case, as much as it kills me to say this, I'd end up going with Garcia for such a scenario. Though Garcia would probably cost a little more, I think the returns would be greater. I'd love to have a crazy passing game, so neither of those guys fit that mold. I think Cutler could be that guy, but there's no way in hell we're getting him.

Jeff Garcia wants a starting job GUARANTEED. If Rex Ryan decides to have a QB competition with Garcia involved he wont like it. Byron Leftwich on the other hand has learned to adapt to being a back up.
