see now your twisting it. id go with cutler too if the trade cost was the same, my point is Denver is looking to fleece someone for Cutler, a price I dont think we should pay.

I don't agree with this assessment. I feel that Pioli and BB's draft skills are overrated. They do an excellent job at loading up on draft picks, but they have alot of misses. Their strength in the draft is the line - they do a poor job at skilled positions in the draft in general. Then again if you have alot of picks you can afford misses. I really think their skill is filling in the gaps with free agents. So to continually say they are a team that builds with the draft is a bit distorted - I believe Pittsburgh is the best team at sticking to the draft and succeeding at maintaining a competitive team year in and year out.

Here is the details of his contract and Denver would be responsible for all of the bonus money already paid. Actually, it is cheap. Probably 5 million this year and if all the rumors were true about how much the Jets were under then even with all of the signings so far they still have a ton of cash.

7/27/2006: Signed a six-year, $47.86 million contract. The deal contains $11 million guaranteed, including a $1.7 million signing bonus. 2009: $1.035 million, 2010: $1.4225 million, 2011: $1.81 million, 2012: Free Agent. 45% of the deal's max value is performance incentives. Among them is a $1.95 million escalator for any year of 2006-2010 that he finishes in the top five in any of the NFL's major passing categories, as well as a $4 million bonus for taking 60% of the snaps in any of 2006-2008 or 70% in 2009. There also is a $500,000 bonus available 2006-2010 for taking 70% of the snaps and either taking 70% of the snaps in a Super Bowl or winning a Super Bowl.

Didn't Elway throw the ball from the 20 or 30 into the stands before a Monday night game? That's like a 100 yards....could be wrong, but I swear I remember hearing something of the sort.

So you think he'd come here with 3 yrs on his deal and not request a new one? Come on now...You know that'd be the first thing out of his mouth.

Where do the "heard on ESPN radio" threads fit in then? Usually that's a radio jackass doing the exact same thing as what we do on here, but as soon as they say it, it becomes rumor or even news. Too many gray areas.

I heard that the Patriots are trading Tom Brady for a 6th rounder this year though. I think we should try to lowball and offer a 7th.

Something like that. I know they said he could throw from end zone to end zone.

The Jets would be better trading for Braylon Edwards than Jay Cutler. Braylon would open up the offense and allow the running backs to have running room, since our current cast of receivers would allow other teams to stack 8 or 9 in the box.

Jay Cutler would just be an asshole with a strong arm and very few targets that get wide open.

lol my fault then, i obviously took you the wrong way........but still have you ever heard Russell speak? he sounds like a head wound patient. id rather have an asshole who knows how to turn on a lightswitch then a guy who can throw 70 yards in the dark.

anyways go jets, fuck the AFC West. we can agree on that lol.

Ha, I wasn't twisting it. I got that you were saying that the Broncos are trying to fleece everyone, but you don't think the Cards are going to do the exact same thing? That's why I put it that way. You're not going to get Boldin at some exceptional value here.

I agree, if we're getting fleeced, it's not worth it, and that goes for either player.

Here's some sad truth. The best QB in the NFL for the system Rex Ryan is looking to run is.....Chad Pennington. Ball control.

Fine, I'm game for that. But we really gotta hammer home the point that Danny Ainge was his dad and that long range runs in the family.

alright thats fine then. in my Boldin scenario i was assuming something along the lines of a 1st rd and mid round pick. which i know is dumb.

but being cutler is a qb theyd ask teams for multiple 1st rds some bullshit like 1st rd this year 1st rd next or 1st/2nd some bullshit.

my original post began with the sentiment that aside from Leonhard,Ivy, and LJ Smith and Robert Royal, our acquiring players before the draft is over. no trading draft picks, nab a WR/LB/DE in rd 1, and address the other two positions in rds 2, 3, 4 unless theres a BPA pick that shouts, "DO IT!"

so basically were in agreeance, i just rolled out of bed and basically got to, id rather have boldin then cutler. which might be the only part we disagree on.
