WTF are you talking about snow boy?

Coleman has been a starter for 2 years, Igor for 5. Let's look at the numbers, Coleman's avg for his 2 years as a starter, and Igor for his 5 years as a starter.

    Coleman: Tackles: 49
    Igor: 23
    Coleman: Assists: 14
    Igor: 21.6
    Coleman: Sacks 1
    Igor: Sacks 2.2

I won't even bother to compare steroid boy Igor to Ellis... it's silly it's so lopsided. coleman is better han Igor, and it isn;t even close.

And no, I don't measure 3-4 DE's on sacks, but they should get a few if they are to be talked about the way some of you folks knob slobber Olshansky. He is a JAG, and not as good as Coleman.

ohhh well, we need one of em, I like Canty better, but either one wouldn't bother me, I dont think Ellis needs a replacement, but younger solid DE's are a must. It would be nice to get a hold of both of them but things factor in to the situation, like if these guys really want long term big money deals or would they go for a one year stint, things like these are big, and no matter what they do if they are still good they can easily be picked up later on for big money or we just resign them next year when there will be no cap, mofuckas!!!!

I would have no issues with Canty. Igor? :eek:hmy::lol:

But, the Ellis bashing has to stop. I'll ay it again: HE WAS THE MOST PRODUCTIVE 3-4 DE IN THE NFL LAST YEAR, BETTER THAN SEYMOUR.

Coleman is older almost 30, Igor has some nice numbers and has more time to florish, as does Canty, anyway I like our boys but they are getting old, we need young talent to even things out

I absolutley have nothing against Ellis, I didnt say one bad thing about him except that he's getting old, but I dont want him to go, i was arguing that if we somehow got these two youngs DE's along with Coleman and Ellis we'd have a nice DL rotation, really nice, it probably wont happen because we arent the only guys looking for DE's, but again it would be NICE!!

I feel the other way around. I'd rather have Roidy McRoid Rage than Chris Canty. Dallas plays 2 gapping like we have the last three years, San Diego plays 1 gapping, so whereas you know you're getting an average to below average DE in Canty, you would have the chance of Olshansky flourishing in a new system.

Wow. That's amazing. Now go do Aaron Rodgers 1 year average vs Joe Montana's career average. Under your theory, Rogers is better.

    Noble effort....but.....you failed.

    LMAO!

1 year of Rodgers vs 15 of Montana is comparable to 2 years for Coleman and 5 for Igor?

Son, you need a math lesson.

I'd like to say your retort was noble, but it was pahtetic. No offense.

Your the one comparing apples to oranges. Why you getting mad at me about it? Why don't you compare their careers? THEN, go watch some film on Olshansky. Find out what a true bull looks like taking on double teams and getting "Lights Out" free to smack the QB in the mouth. But you?re probably right. After all, look at how much penetration our OLBs got with Coleman up front. Thanks for guiding me in the right direction.

The Jets had 27 before the start of FA.
    Bart Scott: 8mil /year
Lito Sheppard: 3 mil this year
Brandon Moore: 4 mil this year

That's about 15 we spent for the coming season which leaves them with 12 mil, the probable Jim Leonhard signing, a possible Corey Ivy signing and the draft picks.

Canty looks to be seeking 8 million per year. The latest reports have the Giants out of the running due to the Rocky Bernard signing and Canty's asking price. That's an awfully steep price for us to pay for DE depth.

Maybe we could pawn Coleman off on the Packers...they owe us.

I'm not mad, I'm quite sane. I'm not angry either, if that's what you actually meant. I'm laughing at you. Now that we clared that up...

Bryan Thomas' suckitude in pass rushing is now Coleman's fault? And I guess Pace's sack fall off is due to Ellis then too, right?

Igor looks mean, has all the nasty tats, roided up arms, so he must be good, right? I've seen Igor. He has the right name. He plays like the way Marty Feldman looked in Young Frankenstein. Scary lookin, but pretty harmless.

That would help. Canty would only be adding 3.5 to the cap, but we'd still need depth. I'm definitely ok with getting that in the draft, though. I don't know what we could get for Coleman. He's not exactly a player who jumps out at you, although I think he's a decent 3-4 DE.

Canty will be staying in New York another night. This could be because his delayed flight was canceled or it could be because he is thinking about signing with the Giants. Either way it gives more time for Jerry Reese to make an offer. I doubt he makes it to the Jets for a visit, if only because the Jets have thus far professed no interest in signing him.

Ellis deserves to retire as a Jet. No-one out there for the $$$ we NOW have free will/can be better then him. The guy has played balls-out for a long time. Watch what he does this year now that he has alot more help around him. (Now if he will stop driving without a license and insurance I'd be real happy!).

I'm not sure he is going to equal his production on the field this year from last year, but he deserves the benefit of the doubt. Let him have one bad year after outperforming every other 3-4 DE before the replacement thoughts pop up. Draft a guy to get some spell time behind him? Yes. Pay a FA big money to come in and replace him? No. That being said if we bring in anyone else to play DE than it's going to be Coleman who loses his starting job, not Ellis.

this is true, but i think it's a necessity to draft one early and groom them into the system, that way even next year they could start
