If its a possibility why can't we sign Canty and Igor Olshansky, Draft a WR with the first and NT with our second, I think or DL would be monsterous with the two of them rotating with Ellis, Coleman, Devito etc. they would wear down OLines and our linebackers will have many more chances to get to the QB and make plays, because lets face it, the biggest problem with our defense was our lack of pressure on the QB which gave the recievers time to break away and make plays and all the blame went on the secondary, I say sign them both if we can, do any of you guys think this is a possibility?
Ellis outperformed every other 3-4 DE last year and now you want to put him in a backup roll? Aside from that, there are a few things that would be a problem here: 1. The uncapped year is next year and we still need to pay other players;2. there's a limit on the number of players per roster and you want to carry at least five players at the DE position. So no, I don't think that this is a possibility.
nah man, I dont want to put Ellis into a back up roll, I say we have these guys rotate around, everyone stays fresh and picks apart the opposing offensive lines, and whats the problem with a couple extra DE's we had like 7 DB's last year, it was just a thought. I still think our D would be rediculous with this kind of signing

The Jets MAY buy one more defensive player but then they will also spend what is left on offense. They will also draft primarily offense in the early rounds.

Yeah... This is a dumb idea. Have you ever heard of the salary cap? And why they hell would we sign two more 3-4 DEs to big contracts to have a 5/6 man rotation? That would be something like $150 million or more tied into 2 starting spots.
