Thigpen showed some flashes last year that he could be pretty good, with cassel being the guy in KC, i think tanny should offer a 3rd for Thigpen.

No. We have 3 guys with experience in the system. It's time to see who can step up and play behind a solid o-line and hopefully a very good defense.

Thigpen's an interesting player...the Chiefs really don't have many weapons on offense and he did a pretty good job with what he was given in KC. I doubt that they want to let him go with Huard off the roster now, but if a 3rd rounder is the asking price I don't see why the Jets wouldn't bite. They aren't going to draft a better QB at that spot, and it would allow them to use the #17 on a good WR.

Ratliff will do just fine. We don't need Thig.

Thigpen >> Clemens, from what I've seen.

Honestly, I thought this immediately. If KC is going to a 3-4, maybe we can package Bryan Thomas and a draft pick for Thigpen. I really liked what I saw from him and would at least be some nice competition for Clemens and Ratliff.

I am a huge fan of Tyler Thigpen.

Why not though? Thigpen was a very good QB last year. He has Romo potential. I'd be willing to take a shot at him and have him compete for the starting job. You can get him for cheap, and we'd be better off with him for prob a 3rd or 4th than we would with Sanchez for a 1st.

If we're going to go out and QB, how about getting one that doesn't suck?

I want Sanchez, damn it! Screw Thigpen or any of the others. I want the Jets to do what they have to do to get Sanchez. I'm concerned that Coach Ryan doesn't put any weight in the position of QB. What the Ravens had last season was a fluke. I think every team needs a QB to lead it. I want Sanchez to lead our team in a couple of seasons or possibly take over for Ratliff this season.

In his one season, how much of a leader did you see in Sanchez? Don't get me wrong, I like the pick. I think he could be a very good QB. But I think he'll have a rough start. If they think he's the best player available, get him. Ideally I'd rather go get Thigpen, or sit tight and see what Clemens or Ratliff can do.

At 17, I think Nicks or Britt are the ideal selections.

The little that they've played. Clemens two years ago, Thigpen last year.
From that small sample, Thigpen looked much more competent to me.

IMO, you cannot compare anyone to Clemens, because Clemens is the worst QB in the league. It's not a fair comparison :p

I actually like Thigpen. He didn't look too terrible playing for the Chiefs, which is quite a feat. I think KC made a big mistake trading a first day pick for Cassel without letting Thigpen prove himself. I'd rather roll with Clemens though.

2 players play less than a year in crappy offensive systems is about the most he could have possibly seen..

There are still plenty of question marks surrounding Thigpen. I'd still like to see what he'd cost, but they installed a dumbed down offense for him (or maybe it was for Herman Edwards, who knows). Switching to the spread helped him ease into his role and inflated his stats. However, what I saw of him, he looked more than capable of running a proficient offense.

The more I think about it though, the more I'm convincing myself that Clemens/Ratliff deserve a shot.
