Anyone know what Champ has been up to? I'm actually pretty curious to see how he'll spin all this negatively...
Sorry if I wasn't clear. I meant less than he wanted. In my other post I was a bit more clear. He gets an extra 2 million total. He was due a 5 million dollar bonus. Current reports were wrong. Indications were he was looking for 5 to 6 a year. I'm now laughing at the people who thought he was overpriced before, but are now ecstatic with his larger contract.
Yeah but his guaranteed went from 6 to 10 mil right? I must have missed something in the last day or so. What is this 30% rule? Couldn't Tanny have just restructured/ extended him and converted the 6M roster bonus into straight guaranteed money over say a 3 year period? I guess in the end Tanny basically added 4M to the 6M guaranteed and spread it over 4 years. All in all I guess this is a good move but I feel like I'm missing something.
Yeah, lot of people said he was overpriced. They just wanted those $7mil off the books so we could sign Scott. I thought the contract Moore had was great for us. We only had to manage this yr somehow and then he was going to be like the cheapest starting guard in the NFL. Of course he would have started barking right after the roster bonus would be paid, and then we would have no choice but to give him a similar 4 yr 16 mil deal or something. So in essence, we saved his 6 or 7 mil contract this yr, moved it aside, and just agreed to what they were going to do after 09 anyways. Of course thats my opinion but I have several cases like this before. Recent one being was the Bakers issue last offseason.
It is a good day. It is AMAZING how absence makes the heart grow fonder. Last year there was a contingent that called for his head, now most of us are thrilled he's back...
I do not know of the 30% rule either... Can someone clarify this when you get some extra time from creating Scott/Leonhard threads every minute?
