Well, the more I read the article I posted, it seems to link back to the NFL Network Statement from Schefter. Might be a case of some guy at the Baltimore Examiner jumping the gun and misreading the Schefter post as a definite signing, and not an agreement in principle. Remind me to never post again until I read an article eleventy billion times. Hopefully I'm wrong.
Yeah, I noticed the same thing. I was going to post the article but you beat me to it. However, the article gives us old news about the principle crap
Why are they out of their minds? Do you see anyone else running back to their old teams to try and get a better deal? You are either with us or you're against us.
I was so excited this morning once I saw ESPN I called my friend who is back in BAL to do some quality sh!t talking... as usual it's gonna smack me in the face.
We're gonna get screwed again..just watch. We're the same joke of a franchise that we were 4 years ago.
(This from a beat writer with the Baltimore Sun (at 2:47pm)) Scott to Jets isn't done deal yet Ravens inside linebacker Bart Scott is in New York, but continues to still negotiate with both the Ravens and Jets. There is speculation that the Ravens have offered Scott a five-year contract worth $42 million, and Scott also wants assurances that he will become the center piece of the defense in Baltimore, much like Ray Lewis was during the last decade. Jets head coach Rex Ryan, the Ravens former defensive coordinator, keeps increasing the ante as the Ravens go up. - Not loving this bidding war - we've seen this before.-
Ravens | Scott letting team match New York's offer Fri, 27 Feb 2009 11:42:38 -0800 (2:42pm) Rich Cimini, of the New York Daily News, reports unrestricted free-agent LB Bart Scott (Ravens) has called the Baltimore Ravens to give them a chance to match the offer he has received from the New York Jets, according to a source. this was at 2:42pm
So offer 5 years/45 mil. If we want him, we can get him. It's just a matter of how much we are willing to pay. Worse case scenario we get Lewis as a replacement until someone else is a Free Agent.
Sorry man, I just read what the guy said and posted it, I should have checked his reference link first. It seems like the reporter's post is just not a fact yet. Nonetheless, I deserve a beatdown for the early post, sorry.
