I've seen a lot of Jet games....I'd take Chrebet over Coles any day of the week.

No way, no how I take Coles of Chrebet. More receptions, 10 years with the team...straight....never complained and never left the team for more money.

Wayne was clutch....Coles made some nice catches over the years but he's not WC. Never was, never will be.

And let me add that a lot of those throws weren't 4 yarders from Chad.

And there's a huge difference between "wishing a player well" and junc wishing Chad was his best friend

Don Banks from SI must have had some insider information. He posted this in his post combine mock before the Coles release was announced.

Notice there is no mention of Coles.

Maclin ran a 4.4 and has great hands. He had 102 receptions for 1260 yards and 13 touchdowns in 2008. He sounds like Cotch with more speed. I wouldn't complain.

Chrebet actually did complain, I think it was in 2002 about his role in the offense. Coles was a much better WR. Chrebet was good but overrated.

How was he overrated? He wasn't even drafted. The dude was a walk on.

I don't even think junc was watching the Jets in the mid to late 90s.

I base it on everything. Chrebet was a nice complimentary player, Coles was a legit #1. Chrebet's only really good year was b/c he had Key on the other side taking pressure off him. I don't have time to get into it right now but I'll provide examples tomorrow.

I'm not saying he wasn't good but many jet fans want to retire his # and act like he was a great player. he was GOOD. In the last decade he was probably our 4th best WR after Key, Coles and Moss.

I will respectfully put you in the category of "refuses to get".

I have been watching the Jets since the early 80s and I promise I have more useless jets knowledge stored in my brain than you do and my memory is alot better.

That's a weak argument at best. Why not just say "because I think so"

You promise me that your memory is better than mine? That's a promise you can't keep, junc. Try, he's ranked 3rd all time, regardless of decade.

Not coming in of course, but Jet fans overrate him after the fact now. Some people here want his number retired--Wesley Walker and Al Toon's numbers aren't even retired.

Also, the four years Chrebet played opposite Keyshawn early in his career did a lot for his numbers, Coles came in after Keyshawn was gone and had to replace him.

I've already compared the stats for you junc. Don't bother. You won't convince me.

Chrebet is not an all time great, but he had as much heart as any Jets player I have ever seen.

Coles was never as clutch as Wayne.....they called him Mr. 3rd Down for a reason.

What did they ever call coles other than "misquoted"
