Are we signing any of our free agents back? We should sign Mosley, Richardson, and Moore back maybe even Barton if we dont get a LB. Seems like we have a ton of holes now that we didnt have. They were 8-3 at some point this year. We cleaned house like they were 1-15.. This is BS how we rebuild every year. So we need a CB, Guard, TE,WR, Full back, Linebacker, A real kicker,DE,saftey, punter, and a vet QB. you always need a vet on the bench. Where are we getting all these players? The draft? There are no #1 wrs that will make it to #17.. Kiss winning this year and the next goodbye. So it was a waste to get Jenkins, Pace and Faneca They were all suppose to be here to win now. Thomas Jones is getting up in age. Shaun Ellis is old.
How about we wait a week and see what unfolds? what stalwart starter did the Jets get rid of???? its all depth guys... calm down.
Moore isn't even a Free Agent. Thinking about it, with as much cap room has been made, I think they are planning on breaking the bank in FA and trades, and possibly trading back up into the late 1st with their 2nd.
those are all JAGs/retired/injured. Moore is still here. Richardson is on his way back. So really Coles and Barton are gone, and they can be replaced.
yeah its like the stock market is starting to crash and we jump early instead of waiting it out. if we followed that logic, the minute we went splat the stock would go back up again.
We have something insane brewing this offseason...Woody is embarrassed as to how last season ended and he wants to make it a distant memory
there will be plenty of depth guys and staters in FA plus the draft... the Ryan probably looked over the defense and said "they can't play my scheme they don't have that skill set" if Scott doesn't sign with the Ravens that's Barton's replacement. I can see a WR being taken in this draft... there are plenty of WRs in this draft that are capable starters. there will be 53 guys on the roster come sept 1st.
We cant pick a guy with a top 5 draft pick.. D brick, Robertson, Gholston.. and we are going to get a superstar at #17. ok. I just hope we fill 2 of the holes we have with a power house player this free agency.
If the draft has taught you anything in recent years it's that the whole damm thing is a crapshoot. It doesn't matter if you grab a guy first overall or in the later rounds- what's advertised isn't necessarily what you are buying. Look at last year, we draft the workout wonder and one spot behind us the Pats get a DROY- a player who absolutely deserved the award. Mayo put the guys ahead of him to shame, guys in the top 5. I relish the fact that we're picking mid-first this year. No pressure to make as much of a "splash," plus the rookie pay is considerably less when going from Top 5 to mid-first. Don't worry so much, these things have a way of working out.
love the mentality, its what winners are made of... and don't even put Brick in with those two, that's not logical. Well in the recent past, the Jet have gotten Revis, Vilma, Santana Moss, J Abe, Shaun Ellis, and Hugh Douglas all in the middle of the 1st round..... so if history is any indication - the jets will find a superstar at 17... something to look forward to
We've done pretty damn good with mid-to-late 1st rounders since Tannenbaum has been in charge... Revis, Mangold, Keller. D'Brick will never live up to #4 overall at this point, but if he had been taken in the late first round, I don't think anyone would be complaining at this point. Gholston... well, that pick is just scary right now.
Richardson should be on his way back any day now. They expect a deal done before the end of the week. I'd expect them to wait to finalize a deal with Barton until they know whether they'll be able to sign Bart Scott.
... and if history is any indication there's a two-to-one chance the Jets will get rid of him after three or four years. Just saying!
