With free agency starting tomorrow I'm getting a little worried. Perhaps its just my natural reaction as a Jets fan but it seems as though many of the guys we wanted to go after are in the midst of signing elsewhere. Im worried we are not going to make as big as a splash as we thought we were. If you look at the cap situation around the league everyone has $$ to burn.
I just heard that Tampa is 60 mill under the cap!?! It could be wrong but holy crap!

Scott - Just heard a report that Balt. will have his deal done before 12:00am.

Ray Ray - I think if its between us and Dallas...we lose. The guys has stated that its his dream to play in Dallas and we all know J Jones has a hard on for big name aging veterans.

Houszh (or whatever) - we wont go after him. 31 years old and strictly a possession guy. Not a "go up and get it" receiver.

These are just a few names...any other thoughts?

Still happy they cut Coles , also don't want a retread QB, give Ratliff an oppurtunity, get a #1 receiver, trade our #1 for Boldin...

I hope you're wrong about Scott...I still don't get the LC move? How many teams cut their #1 WR?? Sure, Coles was getting old, but still had great hands (minus the throw to him in Seattle on 4th down). I loved LC, he had heart. He was with the Jets through thick and thin, and we could have salvaged him as a slot WR. Who else do we have? Even if you draft a stud this year, it still takes 2-3 years to develop. Sorry to go off on a LC tangent, I'm still baffled by it. As far as Ray Ray, you can keep him. I'm sick of 33+yr olds coming our way...And Housh is in the same boat. We need to get younger and better. While cutting LC gets us younger, I don't think it gets us any better.

I'm sure we'll get a CB in Free Agency... my biggest doubt is LB. Crowder resigned and except for Scott and Lewis there doesn't seem to be anyone worthwhile in free agency. I have no idea where we are going to get our LB since in the 1st round i'm pretty sure we'll go WR.

I would love Boldin he would instantly make Cotch. better. But I dont think Arizona takes anything less than a #1 and a #3. They know what they've got and they are not going to let him go cheap no matter how much he bitches.

As far as getting a CB...I'm all for McFadden.

me thinks that was a 2nd rounder...:)

anyway - everyone relax - all these moves are being made with a 2-3 year plan that i believe has gained front office support with Favre retiring. we have some good young talent under contract for another 2-3 years and look to import even more talent with our cap situation and the draft.

all teams have to trim the fat and the jets are doing it with players that we are all used to rooting for...it seems troubling but its a necessity to make the roster leaner, younger, and if played right, more talented.

Are you sure, I'm almost positive it was a 4th?

Isn't Mike Peterson a FA? Might be a good fill in for a year or two.

  12. I think Boldin can be had for a 2nd rounder. If he makes noise in the media Zona is gonna wanna flat out unload him ASAP. Sure the Lions got a first for Roy Williams but that was a mid season desperation type deal..if Moss only yielded a 4th,Jenkins yielded a 3rd...we can surely get Boldin for a 2nd..

Kurt, c'mon, you are smarter than this. Arizona would not let us sniff Boldin's jockeys for out first, nevermind a second. He is a top 8 WR in the NFL. Try more like our first, next year's second and a player like Pace.

    You got it, Hemi.

You're nervous? I have a thought. By the time noon rolls around on Sunday and the Jets haven't signed anyone yet, you will probably have steam coming out of your ears.

    for boldin a 2 in '09 and a 5 in '10 could do it. with incentives that 5 could become a 4 or even a 3.

the jets may have a very slight advantage like any team in the AFC cause the cards would of course prefer to deal him out of the conference....

i WOULD NOT part with this years first rounder for boldin. if we did - we would have to get another second round pick somewhere. its not like we are 1 receiver away from stardom.

the jets need these picks, this is a crucial offseason. the time to wheel and deal these picks will be on draft day if they can get the guys they want.

Boldin will be traded and someone will give up a 1st because hes much better then any WR in the draft including Michael Crabtree
