If I can grab some Mets gear, I will put it up for free here. I am working Braves ST again. Last year I turned down a D Wright batting glove. This year I will try and get whatever I can. BTW, if you see me at the Braves ST games, I have to wear the damn Braves hat. I did get the St patricks day one. At least it is green with a shamrock.. Available only at the ST sites..
I'm so excited for baseball. I spent almost an entire class today on Mets Mobile reading all of the articles from Spring Training and even ventured onto the shithole of MetsBlog to read some stuff. I CANNOT WAIT.
ok tatis has a swollen hand, we dont know how church will respond after 2 concussions and batting .213 after returning from the second one.oh and we have dan all of 138 major league at bats already pencilled in as our LF. BUT MANNY FREAKIN RAMIREZ is still available on the cheap.you want us to pay high prices for this new stadium,SIGN HIM.
How exactly is Manny available on the cheap? He's turned down a one year $25 million contract, and has said he wants multiple years at $20 million-plus. That strikes me as anything but cheap.
Wilpon wont pay the luxury tax. Singing Manny to the money Manny is demanding would put the Mets over. I can't argue with the logic that ownership dosent want to pay the Braves and Marlins money to sign players .
$20 MILLION PER YEAR FOR 2 YEARS IS ON THE CHEAP. IF THE MARKET WAS LAST YEARS MARKET HE WOULD BE GETTING 4 YEARS OR 5.
Castillo had 2 hits and 4 RBI http://mlb.mlb.com/news/boxscore.jsp?gid=2009_02_25_nynmlb_balmlb_1 Meanwhile O's Pitcher Dave Pauley is going to be looking to bring down his 108.00 ERA
First, as dave noted, this year is not last year - teams aren't going to spend that kind of money (certainly not Wilpon, whose family lost hundreds of millions with Madoff). Second, I can't see why he would sign for $20 million per year for 2 years when he can get $25 million for one - he would then effectively be taking a $10 million pay cut for the second year, which only makes sense if he thinks he's going to really suck or have a career-ending injury this year. I think he's waiting for $50 million for 2 years or $70 million for 3 years, which I don't think he'll get. I still expect him to sign that 1 year deal with the Dodgers.
He is out of his mind if he doesn't take that deal - he's guaranteed the second year if he gets hurt, and it's a player's option for the second year, so he can opt out if he has another monster year and thinks he can swing another gigantic two-year deal.
Do you have a source for this? I know the Wilpons and Sterling Equities appeared dozens of times on that client list, but I never saw any figures attached.
why dont we offer this? everyone keeps saying b/c of the market there not spending. ok b/c of the market reduce my tix prices. FUCK THESE OWNERS.
