I'd have to choose Stafford, in my opinion he is the best QB in the draft and QB is one of our biggest needs. Crabtree would be cool to have and I think he will be great, but taking a WR #1 seems almost crazy when there are so many other quality WR's like Nicks and Maclin available later on.

Personally, I think I'd go Sanchez at #1.

you don't give that kind of money to a kid who started only 16 games and is a junior coming out.

my choice would be Curry or Jason smith. I love Smiths mean streak and confidence.

If I had the first pick in the draft for the Jets, I would take BJ RAJI

Jenkins wore down by the final quarter of the season and IMO that seriously contributed to our downfall as a team

I think a big man like Jenkins needs to be spelled approximately 40% of the snaps if you want to keep him fresh and maintaining 100% of his dominance from start to finish including the post season assuming we get there

I think BJ RAJI can do that immediately and not just as a warm body, but as a heck of a nose tackle in his own right

I also think BJ would give us great protection against an injury to Jenkins, whereas right now if we lose Jenkins our D-line automatically becomes one of the worst in the league in my view

Lastly, Jenkins will not play forever and elite nose tackles are hard to find, very hard, perhaps even harder to find than franchise QB's, so if I have a chance to draft a possible elite NT and Jenkins eventual successor, I would do it and draft RAJI

I really don't believe there is anything harder to find in football than a dominant nose tackle

Just look at every draft class, there's usually no more than a few guys who project to 34 NT in the pros and of those few there's usually no more than one or two (if any) who look like they even have a chance to become dominant nose tackles

PS. I also view an elite NT as great positional value for a 34 team, even with the #1 Overall Pick

IMO NT and RUSH OLB are the two most important positions on defense for teams that run the 34 scheme

If you're gonna run that defense, you must have a dominant NT (In the Game) and at least one elite edge rusher

Well I feel like we need a QB, and I'd much rather have Sanchez than Stafford. People drool over Stafford's pro build and pro arm, but I'm unimpressed with what he did with the hype in college. He was far too inconsistent for me to think he's going to amount to being a great passer in the NFL.

I change my vote...didn't even think about BJ Raji till Jabba just mentioned him. I'd go with him. I like Aaron Curry too.

Same here. Curry just does everything well and would be great next to Harris; I like Monroe better than J Smith as a LT, but we're obviously not in the market and Smith would allow us to kick Woody inside with Moore's cut. Jabba just made a damn good case for Raji as well.

Well I don't know whether BJ Raji would work in Rex Ryan's scheme at 6'1", but it would be a tie between Curry, Raji and Stafford with the #1 pick.

hear hear.......stafford and sanchez? these guys are not very good.

Crabtree is the only WR I'd draft in round 1.

i don't think a CB gets by the saints so if jenkins/davis goes before that we would need to trade up to snatch the other

If the Jets had the #1 it would be Curry all of the way. The guy is a special talent and will have a long career in the NFL. And the fact he plays LB and we need one is icing on the cake.

If there's a sure thing in this year's draft, it's Curry.

There is no sure hit #1 pick in this draft. Everybody will try and trade down but nobody will be able to, same as last year. Remember, it will cost in the 50-60 million range to sign him.

    This is easy..

If we had the #1 pick, we TRADE IT. No one here sticks out as to say that they are an undisputed #1 pick. I'm not sold on Stafford and Crabtree's going to slide to Oakland. I'm glad we are at 17, wouldn't want to have a pick in the top 5 this year.

if both of these guys were worthy of the first round #1 pick there wouldnt be any mentioning of an OT for the number one slot... i would be a unanimous decision
