No, I wouldn't. Because (as I've said several times) the lives of professional athletes aren't worth my time beyond that which they do on the field (or, previously, weren't worth my time beyond what they paid me).

You're seriously going to act offended because a pro athlete is lying? The horror!

Trust me, there are plenty of things that nearly all pro athletes do equally (if not more) deserving of your moral outrage.

Let's get something straight here. Steroids don't make you a great baseball player. If you're an average player and take steroids, you'll be an average player on steroids. If you're already a great player, steroids will make you a little stronger and increase your energy.

And before you go criticizing the guy, remember that there are still 103 players on that list, which could very well include any one of your favorite players. Hell, Manny could be on it as well.

    So STFU about it already.

    Iata...come on now.

I think you are confusing the A-Rod's presser with Palmeiro's testimony in which he shook his hand at the camera and said No, I did not take steroids. A-Rod, despite his bullshit (I have a girlfriend, but she lives in Idaho) story, at least admitted to using.

However, I 100% agree with you about him not coming 100% clean. PR people, you saw what happened with Clemens and Bonds vs. Pettitte...why not come 100% clean you idiots?!?!

This is what A-Rod's people should have had him say.

"Good afternoon. I would first like to thank my teammates and coaching staff for being here today and deeply apologize to them for any distractions my circumstances may cause them now or in the future. Second I would like to apologize to my fans for greatly disappointing them and last I would like to apologize to Major League Baseball for furthering the perpetuation of its tarnish.

I am here before you all today to confirm the recent media reports. I have, in my career, used performance enhancing drugs. I am prepared to accept not only the full responsibility for my actions but also the repercussions my usage of these substances will bring.

I cannot justify my use of the performance enhancing substances, however I will offer you all the rationale of a stupid young athlete looking for a short cut on the road to success. I will preface my story by saying, due to instruction of my counsel I cannot discuss specifically the source or sources of the substances I purchased.

That said, here is my story. Picture yourself at the pinnacle of your career in your early twenties. Your countless hours of work, rigorous diet and exercise, and unfaltering determination have paid off. Sports writers across America deem you, when your career is all said and done, the best to have played the game. You are supposed to break all of the major records a player can break and you have yet to experience a championship. But again, you are not even 24 years old yet. Can you imagine the amount of pressure that young man has on his shoulders every day? (10 second pause)

The game he plays no longer is fun and creative it's mathematical and calculating. The young man finds something, a substance, he can enter into the equation to make his numbers better. (Pause)

That young man, the same one with the weight of the world on his shoulders, is the same one who succumbs to his weaknesses and stupidity. I am that young man, I am weak, I am stupid, and I am very sorry.

I turn the forum over to the media and now will accept questions."

That would have been better, especially if delivered without reading it from a piece of paper.

And this is only year one. Just imagine how he looks in 6 years if he doesn't change his ways.

I really want A-Rod to become their sponsor, just as a big ol' middle finger to everyone else.

I don't care what A-rod puts in his body to entertain me...

    insert Simpsons quip here:

    Bart: But why, Mr. McGwire?
McGwire: Do you want to know the terrifying truth, or do you want to see me sock a few dingers?
    Crowd: Dingers! Dingers!

Yeah, this could be a fun year. I hope he hits 75 and 190 RBIs. Oh, and apparently there were no more boos after that either. I'm sure this just ruined all of these sportswriters day.
