Just reading the overreaction to Michael Crabtree's "disappointment" at the combine. I especially love the stuff about his only measuring 6 1. If he played like 6 3 in college, what does it matter. Let's hope this story grows like a weed (like Marino's weed story) and he plummets down to us. Story from today's NY Post below... Crack in Crabtree's armor Texas Tech WR Michael Crabtree had a rough combine. He measured a shade over 6-1, shorter than his listed height in college (6-3). Doctors discovered a slight stress fracture in his left foot, which will require surgery. Crabtree is considered by some to be the top player in the draft
exactly the combine and surgery drop him from a 2nd overall pick to 4th the most. just cannot see the seahawks passing on the best receiver in the draft when they are using practice squaders
I don't know if it is the accent or dialect, but he sounds scared everytime he speaks to the media... i've never heard anyone sound like that this year.... mentality is a big thing with me... if he falls to 17 its an obvious choice........ but I look at him out of the corner of my eye.
he's not going to fall to 17, and if he does, then theres a reason no one else had picked him, cause the surgery didn't go well
i highly doubt he falls to 17 but if he fell out of the top 10 i wouldnt mind tradin up a few spots to grab him
He's still the number 1 receiver in the draft, and the stres fractures are short term. He'll fall from top 3 to top 5 at most.
i wouldnt mind if he falls but looking at past history i wouldnt be surprise we take someone out of the blue..."we want sapp"
i was just thinking about that earlier... i think its a big possibility because the only teams that would take him if he doesn't go to Seattle would be most likely the raiders or Jacksonville who need a receiver 911
something is just telling me that Crabtree will either have an alright pro career or he will be plaqued by injuries
Yes I was thinking about not only Marino but guys like Sapp and Randy Moss. It's amazing how stupid the NFL teams are at times. They continue to overlook gameday performance and be unjustly influenced by the combine numbers, off the field stuff. I was watching a replay of Jets/Bengals 1982 first round playoff game. Just before halftime, the announcers tease some promotion for the Senior Bowl and they mention 4 players...the only QB mentioned was Dan Marino. How did the Jets pick O'Brien over Marino? A little pot smoking? Come on, didn't these aholes go to college? It's galling, even today, to think that not only did the Jets let Miami beat them in the AFC Championship, but that they also didn't take advantage of having the better draft position and passed on Marino allowing the Dolphins to have their cake and eat it too. There's no underestimating the stupidity of the mob...one more little crack in Crabtree's armor could send him spiraling down the board...we should move to get him if that happens.
:rofl2: Do you think he gets it? I don't see Crabtree falling that far. Maybe to the Raiders, but that's about it.
Let's just hope we are not stupid enough to let him slide past us if he does fall. He is a football player not a combine guy like Gholston.
