I think I know what it should be: Tannenbaum: Hi Laveranues. I think we should clear the air about something before the season starts. Coles: What's that? Tannenbaum: Don't come to us for money this year. You have a contract in place and I'm not giving you another extension. Play out your contract and we'll pay you what we agreed to pay you and no more. Coles: But that ain't fair dude. Hold on a second man.... Tannenbaum: I'm glad we had this discussion, Laveranues. See you in camp.
They could possibly trade him or cut him imagine that. Mangini might have wiped his ass but Rex Ryan wont. Its about dam time. LC thinks hes an elite NFL WR.
No doubt. Clowney & Stuckey can play. We just need to pick up another guy in the draft, and maybe a FA. Doesn't have to be a big $ FA. Clowney is a speedster. he can stretch the field. Cotch IMO is way under rated. I think he's better then Coles ever was. Stuckey is pretty solid also. I'd be pretty happy adding a mid tier FA to the mix. Anyone know who's out there?
To me, this is just showing that Ryan wants to make this HIS team. He's going to shut up all of the guys that have complained in the past about this, that, and the other. Amani Toomer, Jabar Gaffney, and Shaun McDonald should all be pretty cheap. Brandon Jones of the Titans is a younger guy that I like...
Hmm, maybe the scenario Tbird and I imagined could play out... If Coles is traded, we may draft someone like Nicks at #17 (or trade down?), thereby getting a #1 WR, while opening up opportunities for Clowney and Stuckey, and allowing us to keep Brad Smith. A combination of Nicks, Cotchery, and Keller could be elite in a couple of years -- provided we have/find the right QB.
I'm happy to hear they're meeting with Bartons agent. Everyone around here is pretty quick to cut the guy, but he's a damn fine football player. The defense is better with him then without him. The meeting with Coles agent could only be a trade, and I expect to see one happen.
Anyone have an idea as to who would be interested in Coles? Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see a change to our WR corps, but I don't know many teams interested in his $7 million contract, or in restructuring after last season.
Maybe a team that's close to making a real run that could use a WR, such as the Chargers or Eagles, or even the Falcons. If possible, I'd rather see him go back to the NFC. My question is, does anyone know if Coles gets traded, do we still take a cap hit from his guaranteed $, or does the new team that trades for him take that on?
The only logical thing that I can see is a trade to the foreskins to get Moss back. Somebody get Bradway on the horn, this seems to be his specialty...
cotchery may be underrated but he'll never be a number one reciever. He's the Jet's version of Amani Toomer. He got size and good hands but he needs a number 1 threat to line up across from him.
