its good to know that the Cap is going to be ok... good job Tanny. That's why I like him. Let Joey Clinkscales and Cohen do their thing in terms of drafting players, they are doing a great job finding 1st round talent. I'm looking foward to another productive offseason by this FO.... hopefully, the CS can get it done this time with correct playcalling and utilizing players correctly. Something that hasn't been done since Parcells.
imo thats backburnered for the moment. Once we get through the combine and the first couple of weeks of FA and have basically made any plays at big name guys/middle name guys we want, and we truly have a good gage for what we are doing draft wise, meaning are we still considering dealing up for a Qb should he fall to an area? (The higher we pick, the more money we gotta give him) also is dealing down a more likely option? if we not only expect to drop back, but that is more or less plan A, we know we have more money we can give to our little buddy Leon. Also because he has another year left, right now i am of the mind and body that right now he is as cheap as he can be, so if you can squeeze out one more FA by not re-doing his deal now, I say wait. Next year you can still pay him. He also strikes me as a guy who wont make a fuss about a new contract this year, but if he gets asked will basically say "Hey it will get done, I have faith, but right now I am going to focus on what I can control, which is my play on the field." That way if it appears we will have plenty of room, yeah I would pay him now and get as much of his salary off the books by next year as possible, however, we also have the flexibility, say we get a lot of money coming in, or we plan to jump up in the draft for somebody, to say hey listen Leon will get paid next year.
What is the anticipated impact of last year's "not likely to be earned" bonuses hitting the cap this year?
