Mangini taught Schotty well. When asked if he thought Favre still had it or whether his arm was finished, he basically supplied a non-answer.... "Wish him well, he was great to caoch while here... blah, blah, blah...

    Now on Clemens:

"He did a heck of a job stting some of his goals... the one thing about Kellen is, extremely smart, puts in a lot of work, he can throw the ball deep off his back foot, won three of his seven starts, has a heck of a chance to improve.

    Basically, again... nothing.

Op[en competition between the 3 QBs?

Well, obviously an open competition... it has been interesting to watch guys compete and it's be fun to watch.

Spend most of thier afternoons on F/A now... films, schemes, development.

Was Penny going to be the starting QB? ... "the competition was not over and it was pretty close to call..."

I think most coaches are skilled at saying nothing.

Which probably really meant that Chad was going to be the starter, but can't say it because it puts down Clemens who may be the QB in 09.

Michael Kay believes the Jets QB in 2009 is not on the Jets right now.

Back to F/A. will you have inpiut?

"Well yeah, obviously, we all have a voice, but I feel very comfotable having input...."

Is the starting QB a Jet right now?

"I feel very good about the guys we have on the roster. We are slways looking to add new talent." WTF did that just mean?

    Off the air with Schotty.

The one announcer is saying "the QB of the Jets is not on the roister right now... strongly believe that."

"This team has to go into a good PSL populated season next year... cannot be a 6-10 team."

Teams that draft a young QB to take over that succeed usually give the ball to the guy and make them the man. The Jets are treating QB development like the last guy on special teams.

That's it, we can't get Leftwich because he "doesn't float Michael Kay's boat". And we were so close.

Tannenbaum will say even less. Still beats five hours of A-Rod callers on WFAN.
