Jeff Garcia missed 4 games last season, in which the Bucs were 3-1 without him. He does not strike me as a difference maker any more, and it would behoove us, during a transitional period, to find a long term solution, rather than "the big name" that all fans of losing New York teams(of which I root for every single one) have been obsessing about for decades to usually atrocious ends. -X-
Do not forget the owners words "We will always have a big armed QB from now on." garcia does not fit that mold.
The following teams all have franchise QBs Steelers - Ben Roethlisberger Giants - Eli Manning Colts - Peyton Manning Patriots - Tom Brady Chargers - Philip Rivers Falcons - Matt Ryan Saints - Drew Brees Cowboys - Tony Romo Packers - Aaron Rodgers Bengals - Carson Palmer Eagles - Donovan McNabb Broncos - Jay Cutler Other QBs that have the potential to be "Franchise QBs" Redskins - Jason Campbell Ravens - Joe Flacco Raiders - Jamarcus Russell Browns - Brady Quinn
I agree with that list, at least the first 12, so that leaves 20 teams without one. They don't come along all that often and there are actually more than usual right now.
Jeff Garcia is the old fckn man!! Let the kids battle it out and move on from there. Its not like we're a QB away from the SB..
How about we reactivate Joe Willie Namath. Garcia is as done as Farve! The Draft or Clemens or Ratliff nobody is going to miraculously get this team to the Sb there is to much work to be done on both sides of the ball. Let our young Qb grow with our team.
I would much rather see Chris Simms than anybody else on the market come in and compete. I wouldnt mind Byron Leftwhich, but I just believe Simms is a much better option for us.
No ...either stick with our Qb's that know the offense or bring in someone fresh outta the draft ...trying to work a 35+ veteran Qb into our system will cause problems again. They are stuck in their ways.
How would you guys feel about M. Vick??... It's been stated that he may be able to play in 2009, and I'm sure there will be a few teams that will bring him in for a tryout. I don't like him personally, but given the market availability this off-season, would he be a player / person that the Jets would show any interest in?? Just curious to know what your thoughts are on the subject...
OH... if he is married to her then he probably isn't getting laid. So i guess he could be gay afterall.
