Favre magic would be blessing one of our young QB like he did in Green Bay.

    Your right,

Aaron Rodgers sat on the bench behind Brett for 2-3 years learning all the ropes and it paid off very well for Aaron. Hopefully young Ratliff will have the same opportunity

I wonder if Brett Favre can actually feel the digital blowjobs that Determination gives him each day.

Favre threw way too many totally inept interceptions for my liking. Because he is Favre, Mangini evidentally did not have the backbone to call Favre out on it. I think that had as much effect on collapsing the team down the stretch as anything.

Bottom line: Favre's glory years are behind him. He is nothing more then an aged Testeverdi right now. In fact Vinnie played with more awareness than Favre.

I am more than ready to say, "Good-bye".

favre is done, and who the hell wants a guy who is over the hill and doesn't even want to come back to the jets. We don't owe him anything, jets need to cut this fool and say good riddance already..This is a joke! .. favre is finished, time for all you favre maniacs to give it up, he had a great career in GB, and is def a hall of fame player.. But you see why green bay sent him packing and the jets should do the same with no regrets.
Goodbye Brett thanks for nothing! lol

that also mean he moves on from this franchise.... unless he'd like to take a nice pay cut, for the betterment of the team.

While I think determination#4 is one of the most annoying posters on this board, don't look foolish Cman by saying you'd rather go 4-12 without Favre. I would hate going through another 4-12 year ugh.

I hope favre hangs up the jersey and just stays on his farm. Hunting deer instead of thinking he can still play. Oh yeah I hope he takes d4 with him.

Mr. Never step up in the pocket, throw off his back foot into triple coverage or directly into a linemen (for a TD) can blow me with his 13 million dollars.

What a waste of a year on that old fart. PSL stunt.

Love your sig. And you know what? Fact: Many Jet fans "actually believe" trading for Favre was a good idea! . . . I kid you not!

Here is Favre's magic, he actually does disappear...

In the last four Decembers, he has 13 TDs and 31 INTs. He's going to be 40 years old this season and he runs out of gas down the stretch.

hindsight does nothing but reminisce about bullshit...

at the time, it was a fine trade.

the end result could not be predicted.

it was and seemed like a great trade at the time, and had we went deep into the playoffs you wouldn't be singing this tune.

Man, I saw this one yesterday and had been staying out of it -- because this is getting very, very tired -- but it seems like you guys are determined to suck me in ... All my love to you guys too!

My position is simply that I think he should probably retire, and furthermore I never really had much expectations for the Jets to do better than 10-6 & perhaps a one & done last year. But I recognize I've been surprised before when I thought that (2007, couple games in 2008), so I leave some chance for him to have another full quality year. Because, well, the man has obviously proven he is/was capable, just as recently as 14 months ago. You look at 2007 and 2008 combined and he is still the best performing QB that the Jets have a shot at getting on roster (including draft and FA). I'm pulling odds out of the air a bit, but also I'm basing them on past performance, and in doing so I come with the odds of each QB having a "good enough" year in 2009 as: Favre maybe 30%, Clemens (the toughest call) maybe 20% (and I think I'm being generous), and Raitliff, < 5%. In other words, my opinion is that he probably is not as great as he was, and in fact he's more likely than not going to not have a great year next year if he does play, but he's still better than any other option the team has. Wow, what ridiculous pumping!!! Get this guy outta here

But somehow *I* am the unreasonable on this board, yet you all who were gushing over a "subway superbowl" 3 months ago and completely ignoring basic football deficiencies like, well, DEFENSE, you all think Favre is not only not highest odds QB option, but actually the primary weakness on this roster. Okiedokie. I guess you want me gone because you want to keep living in fantasyland, where polls on tgg show Brett Raitliff is so good that he's already better than any other option at QB.

Maybe this idiocy and pressure on management due to ridiculous fan expectations (forcing coach firings, coaches to back out of contracts when better offers for teams with more patience and realistic expectations, etc) is the reason that they haven't won it in over 40 years, hmm? I've really learned a lot this year about why Jets fans have the reputation they have in the rest of NFL. Let's face it, the best option the Jets could have hoped for in 2009 is probably the guy who you guys spent the first 8 months of last year cutting down and ridiculing, until the Jets finally cut him and he went to Miami. And many of you still ridicule him to this day. I sense history repeating in this latest drive to dump the proven vet (this time Favre). Ye reap what ye sow, many of ye Jets fans. Your attitude (if the team heeds it) dooms you to be in semi-permanent "rebuilding mode," with the superbowl always shimmering on the horizon, 3-5 years off, in your fantasy world.

Well, feel free to randomly slam me in other threads I'm not posting to, I guess -- if that does it for you. But if you want to slam people posting silly things here, maybe you should look at the people who are so certain that BrettF is positively, absolutely done, no if, ands, or buts, and think BrettR is positively, certainly, the future of the Jets. Maybe you should look in the mirror?

Thank you (and others like NDMick, Big Blocker, Statjeff, etc) for reminding me that not all Jets fans are morons.

im not bustin your balls, the only reason you and Determination get it so bad is Determination constantly points his finger at the Jets as if Brett Favre isnt playing next year its ALL THE JETS FAULT. BLAH BLAH BLAH Brett Favre needs a pat on the back and a juicebox and a mug saying Best QB otherwise he will feel unwanted.

when in reality everyones told him come back. but hes starting his Mississippi standoff again and Jets fans, unlike Packers fans, dont really owe him the LUXURY of being patient while the rest of our organization needs to figure out the big picture.

i dotn know any arguments youve been in aside from that but when people come as new fans to this team and tell lifelong fans we dont know what were talking about just because its Brett Favre. kind of ridiculous. you guys are used to waiting with your dick in your hand. by this time of year were usually talking about a competition between people we dont feel confident about. so emotions are bound to act up.

ive said it once ill say it again, come back favre if not, drink moonshine, bang deanna and let the Clemens show begin.

    1. You got a job that pays $13M. Do you take it or not? Does that REALLY require half a year to figure out?

    2. For better or worse, Favre must let the organization know of his intentions as early as possible - be it returning for another year, or flat out quitting. If he's coming back, then he should participate in the conditioning program. We all saw how he performed in december, and the ineffectiveness is in part due to him not participating the off-season conditioning program (or so I think.)

    3. If Brett doesn't notify of his intention to the organization by the combine, (Ok... maybe by draft. That's the latest) then the team should move on, and shouldn't let him come back either. Look. He's not a 5 year old kid, who can't care less about his responsibilities. He's fuckin' 39 years old, and knows the world of football better than anyone. If he's refusing to be responsible for himself, then he shouldn't be here either.

    4. Better chance for winning? My ASS! So what happens Favre pulls another horseshit he pulled last year? What then? What's more, what about the life after Favre? One way or the other, Jets need a young blood at the QB spot anyway. The more the franchise holds onto Favre, the more the progress of the young QB get retarded. For those reasons, if Favre doesn't want to be here by combine, maybe he should get the pink slip.

Dude, get over yourself already. Bottomline, the guy's 40 and he's making a 13 million. The math doesn't work. I know how it rolls over in Wisconsin where there's nothing at all to do except root for the high school football team that managed to time warp itself into keeping up with the pros, but that's no reason for all of us to abandon reality and adopt your enduring love for your over the hill heroes.

It's not hindsight on my part. I said from the beginning it was a bad move. You can look it up. Nothing can be predicted for certain, otherwise it wouldn't be a prediction. But it didn't take much to see it coming.
