Let's see how Pujols' career plays out, and let's remember that neither player is unquestionably innocent.
No. For one thing you can't tell what steroids did or did not do to players. Also, Griffey is in no way 100% clear in this. If it came out tomorrow that his name is on the list I wouldn't be the least bit surprised.
No. Why is there any reason to think that he hasn't juiced? He's got "integrity"? He's a "family man"? He goes to church every Sunday? KGJ juiced, and as an aside Pujols probably did too. In terms of field players, it's a toss-up between Bonds and A-Rod. What both of them did is flat out...unnatural. And that's against a playing field just as skewed.
Yeah, he juiced. His physique was never natural. I never agreed with Schilling about anuthing until now but he is absolutely right when he said if they leaked A-rod's name then now they have to leak the other 103 on that list. While that won't tell you everybody who juiced it will tell you the 103 that did on that one day in 2003.
Why are we in such a rush to crown a new king after watching so many tumble? It will only disappoint us the fans... this thing won't shake out for years. In the meantime the best player I've ever seen is Ricky Henderson!!!
Jr. My all time favorite MLBer, not a chance is he the greatest. If his career wasn't ruined by injury, maybe. No one should be accusing him of steroids though. He has done nothing to deserve that. Unless being a dominate youth is enough. In which case, nobody should bother watching anymore.
I think if we can besure someone didn't do roids, it's AR...I mean Griffey A majority of the drug use is done to decrease recovery time, and Griffey has been on the DL more often than not the back half of his career. He was a great player, but far from the greatest. I am going to work under the assumption right now that Pujols is clean, and he would get my vote best clean player of the past 20.
I wouldn't be so quick to label Griffey a steroids user simply because there is nothing on him, it wouldn't be right to label him as such unless you want to do a blind witch hunt. And for me he was the greatest all around player that I have ever seen, it is interesting to think that baseball robbed him of his great 1994 season, he may have closed in on Ruth/Maris' HR number in a season that year.
It was a storyline wasted by MLB's baseball's greed, what is the most interesting note was that the 1994 year could have saved the Expos from moving they had the strongest team in the league record wise.
Yeah, but what do you have on Bonds at this point? Nothing. Does that not make it a blind witch hunt too?
My favorite aspect of the 1994 season was the riveting American League West race. That was shaping up to be a great season.
What testimony would that be? The leaked stuff? The reputable Giambi brothers? If they had a legit case on Bonds he'd be in jail already.
Pfft. Even if they had him in a camera injecting himself it would take years to go through court proceedings My point is that there was still something that implicated that he took steroids, it isn't literary coming out of thin air
