Couple guys have moved up and down so wanted to revise what I would do if I'm Mikey T. 1.17) Vontae Davis, CB, Illinois. Would've been perfect had Brandon Spikes declared because then we would have wound up with him or Maualuga. I think this is a good value pick and would give us a very good starting duo with Revis and Davis. The ability of the two of them to cover down the field as well as help support the run will allow Ryan to blitz the front 7 more often and continue his goal of attacking the quarterback. 2.20) Evander "Ziggy" Hood, DE, Missouri. Athletic defensive end at 6'4 295 would be a nice fit on the front in a 3-4. Very active with a good motor, would be able to be in the defenisve line rotation right away and contribute. 3.12) Brian Robiske, WR, Ohio St. His numbers dropped once Pryor took over for Ohio State but he is a very talented receiver. Doesn't have great downfield speed but has solid size at 6'2 207 and has been having a very good Senior Bowl week. *If Britt or Nicks lasts until our 2nd round pick, which after watching guys like Devin Thomas and Limas Sweed drop last year is certainly possible, I would take either one of them and then go somoene like Dorell Scott or Fili Moala in the 3rd round. 4.15) Rhett Bomar, QB, Sam Houston St. Everyone knows who he is and that he had an impressive freshmen season at Oklahoma and then after getting caught taking gifts from boosters was dismissed and wound to Sam Houston. Put up great numbers against a lower level of competition but has a rocket arm and by all accounts would've been a top prospect had he stayed at OU. Could be a steal this late in the draft and I wouldn't mind if Favre retired seeing Clemens, Ratliffe and Bomar sort things out. 4.18) David Bruton, S, Notre Dame. Could the Jets find another defensive back in the 4th round? I've seen Bruton projected anywhere from 2nd-3rd round to the 5th so I'm hoping he'd be around here. Big hitter who could play strong safety allowing Rhodes to roam free. 5.19) Jasper Brinkley, ILB, South Carolina. A first day pick two years ago before suffering a very bad knee injury. Still managed to have a very good season for the head ball coach and if he's fully recovered at 6'2 267 would be a perfect inside 'backer next to Harris. 6.20) Marlon Lucky, RB. Nebraska. Cool name, didn't have a very productive college career but had 8 rushing touchdowns and 22 receptions out of the backfield. Good size at 6'0, 215. 7.21) Best available interior offensive lineman. It's impossible to say who will or won't be available at this point but getting a player that can play some guard and maybe also some center is the direction I'd go at this point.
Lucky might be a good pick in the 6th round. I didn't see him much in 2008, but I did like him in 2007.
Don't like Bhomar for character reasons. Has the talent but too iffy and you want him as your leader for QB? Yeah we could use a DE, and beside Tyson Jackson, I understand trying a tackle at that position. But we also need LBs and if Gholston doesn't pan out then we have no back-up for Thomas and Barton is old in the tooth.
Bomar has always been a leader - that car-lot mix up at Oklahoma is a bunch of BS. The kid deserves another shot...Bomar in the 4th is a solid choice - it's not like we'd be putting the franchise in his hands.
I don't think Bomar will last that long. After him the QBs are shit as far as talent. Talent Wise He has everything and based on that some team will take a chance before the 4th. This is NY and for that, I get concerned with Bomar, also I think you are going to have to spend 3rd rd pick to get him.
- We have two 4th round picks? - Like I've said before, unless we have a big free agent class or someone spectacular, such as Mark Sanchez, falls to us we have to go defense. If Vontae Davis is around, sign me up. - Hood seems like a nice prospect for the 3-4. If he lasts that long, he would be a great pickup. - I'm not the biggest Robiskie fan, but I wouldn't be opposed to drafting him. I have a lot of faith in this receiving core with Stuckey, Clowney and possibly even Smith, but bringing in another guy is something that should be done at some point. - Bomar would be an excellent choice in the 4th round. It's not a high risk pick since it's a mid round choice, but the reward could be great. -Burton looks like a prototypical SS and would be a steal that late. Other than his apparent coverage issues, he looks like the real deal. - If Brinkley lasts that long, there's no doubt he's the pick. - And I can't say I know very much about Marlon Lucky... - Other than the decent possibility of David Burton or Rhett Bomar not being around when we pick, I like this draft a lot.
My only problem here is that I really don't see Bomar being around in the 4th. I say spend the third on him and draft a wideout in the 4th. Maybe a guy like Ramses Barden, who at the very least could be a big endzone target. I definitely like Bomar if we're not getting Sanchez or Stafford, so I'd rather not risk losing him between our picks if he's there. I'm with Mr. E on that subject, I think at the very least the guy is worth the risk because he's so full of talent. I would love this draft though.
I like Robiskie over Ziggy in the second round. I'm starting to like Vontae more and more, didn't know he was Vernon's brother. He is a good tackler who could light up the combine like his brother did. He shows no give up on any plays, which I love. He could play safety as well. Looks like he was used that way in some of the film I have seen.
I'm actually not a big fan of RB in the first round. Thomas Jones showed no signs of wearing down and next year could be the emergence of Leon. I could go for a back in the mid-later rounds, but it's not time to draft one in the first round yet. I had us going with Shonn Greene in the 2nd in my last mock, but I'm not sure I even like that anymore. I would consider Darius Butler with our first round pick. If he's there it's an easy choice. If we don't sign a free agent CB or take one in the first round, we have to go for one in the 2nd at latest. I believe I had Ron Brace in the 3rd in my mock, but I'm not even sure he's there than. I like Hamlin and McKenzie, but again, I'm leaning toward them not being around by then. But hey, it's only February. Again, do we have two first round picks? You probably should have just made this its own thread too since it may take away from the original post. Not a major fan of Moreno, but I would be very happy with this draft.

I'm in. A lot of guys on the list with falling draft statuses. Hopefully, they turn out well. I'd hate to draft a group of Maurice Claretts. I honestly know next to nothing about Marlon Lucky, but my sister owns a training facility and he's one of her combine players this year. I'll have to have her ask how he'd feel about becoming a Jet.
