I'm not very impressed with the overall quality of player's in 2009's NFL Draft. Don't mis-understand me, there are some quality players available this April, but 2009 is not a deep, strong draft. It's not good to own a top ten pick this year, the strenght of the players at the top of the draft is weak compared to previous years. The Jets should do well picking a good player at #17 without breaking the bank.

We have an Awesome group of players that should be available for 2010. I'm really looking forward to 2010's draft.

Here's a list of some of the top prospects:

    Sam Bradford
Eric Berry - my favorite player in this draft.
    Taylor Mays
    Gerald McCoy
    Everson Griffin
    Carlos Dunlap
    George Selvie
    "Mount" Cody
    Greg Hardy
    Brandon Spikes
Arrelious Benn - I want this guy to wear Green & White in 2010.
    Dez Bryant
    Trevard Lindley

There are many more, but all of these players, IMO, would be slam-dunk 1st Rd picks this year.

I think this year has a lot of depth at many positions. And I agree next year will be real fun.

Everson Griffen is the most athletic defensive end prospect to come out since Julius Peppers.

Carlos Dunlap is also a freak athlete.

Rd's 2-4 you can get some good prospects, I'm just not too excited about the Top Ten and later Rounds.

    True
Alot of underclassmen went back, but there is only one good QB for next season and that is Brafford.
Any QB playing the spread offense will not be considered 1st rd. worthy

These two guys should be a Top 5 pick...no question.

Eric Berry is going to be the highest drafted Safety in sometime.

Dub...Berry, Dunlap, and Griffen could all go top five. Bradford and Benn look like the other top prospects.

Dez Bryant could shoot up boards as well.

I want the Jets to win as many games possible, but a rebuilding year wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing.

I wouldn't count Colt McCoy out, I think he definitely can be a legit NFL QB someday...

MR E...........I hear ya. I think the Jet's might struggle in 2009, QB is unsettled, adjustment to Rex's defense will take time, schedule is tough, so it's not out of the realm of a possible down year. I doubt the Jets will have a Top 5 pick. These players just seem so NFL ready right now.....Next Year's Draft will be very exciting. Benn should be a Early/Mid 1st Rd pick and the Jets could have a shot.

I won't be happy until Taylor Mays is a Jet.

    Although Eric Berry might do...

then Tanny should load up on picks next year and make some moves.

He can draft well, so lets make 2010 better than 06.

I don't like Colt McCoy as a pro passer. He reminds me of Cade McNown.

This draft overall is deep, which is good for us.But yeah there really isnt a huge gap from top 10 talent and the next 10 players selected.
Next years RB class should be interesting i still dont know for sure who is gonna be the first one chosen, Benn and Dez White look like they could possibly do what Rogers and Johnson did in '03 hopefully not cause i really hope Dez falls to us, Benn is out of the question unless we do horribly next year.

I think he is overhyped because his stats benefit greatly from the triple-option offense. He gets the ball for the most part after the defenders have come inside to stop the FB and after the open field defender commits to the QB so he always has open space in front of him when he gets the ball.

I'm not saying he can't be a good NFL RB - he certainly has the size and speed - but his stats are going to be inflated big time.

I like Evan Royster of PSU, Jahvid Best of Cal, LeGarrette Blount of Oregon, and C.J. Spiller all more than I like Dwyer right now.

id say hes a better athlete wouldnt you? bleh a cade mcnown comparison. that makes me cringe.

hell maybe your right, but I'm standing by that guy. And if I'm wrong I'll be the first to admit it. and I think he got robbed as far as the Heisman goes.

speaking of prospects of the future, Preston Parker is a fucking moron. The guy has been a legit 1st/2nd rd pick since his sophmore year and hes literally smoked and drank his way off FSU's roster. now he'll prolly play at shitcan university for a year and go in the mid rounds somewhere.

not even suggesting him cuz as much as i love him on the field hes a douche off of it.

Dwyer was productive before the triple option was used at GT. He gets a ton of outside carries in that triple option system too.
