I was offered this trade in my Interactive Mock Draft where I am the Jets GM.

Raiders offer: Nnamdi and a 6th round pick.
Jets offer: Dwight Lowery, 2nd and 4th round pick.

Absolutely I would...especially if we were trading down in round one.

I dont know if i would becuz the kids only been here a year... i thought he had a decent season and let him feel more comfortable out there and he will be a prime defensive back for us for the cost of nothing....

in a heartbeat. I personally think lowery is going to be great, but the likelyhood of him becoming the top corner in the nfl out of the fourth round is a rediculously low probability. to be honest I think we are robbing the raiders, all the more reason to make the swap, but again, thats not a trade even Al Davis would consider

It's not just about the exchange of picks. Remember Asomugha would want a big fat new contract as well. And the Jets are already over the cap. Even if Brett retires, we're probably at the cap. So unless we dump some existing players, we don't have room to sign him.

In his first 3 seasons in the NFL Nnamdi Asomugha had 17 PBUs and 0 INTs.

In his first season and starting only 10 games, Dwight Lowery had 16 PBUs and 1 INT.

Lowery has a very promising future but for right now Nnamdi > Dwight.

Aso was a safety at Cal - he was a hybrid defensive back for the Raiders.

It took him a season or two to learn the position, but he certainly hasn't looked back - he's the best corner in the game.

Aso is exactly why I'm so high on Sean Smith.

Sean Smith played CB at Utah, so the only connection I see that you are making is there size+speed ratio, but I too am high on Sean Smith.

I know where Smith played...both of them lined up all over the place in college.

I see similarities outside of just size and speed. They are almost the same player.

first I would like to point out its the pro bowl, hardly anyone even tries during the game, and secondly, your last statement screams, "No Shit Sherlock" Once you beat any CB in football, you beat them. The problem is beating them in the first place, and hands down Aso is clearly the best corner in football, Revis is probably a close #2, but Nnamdi is still on a whole nother level.

stat wise there was that article ranking CB based on stats from the 08 regular season, I believe he stated Aso only had 29 passes thrown his way in 16 games, and only allowed 7 completions or some rediculous stat around there. As much as it seemed no one ever threw in Revis' direction, I believe he still had something along the lines of 70 passes thrown his way, so yeah Nnamdi is on another level.
