It really seemed to me at the time that Shanahan found something, on both sides of the ball. The for everyone else to see part also certainly seemed to fit, as did the apparent lack of adjustment by the Jet CS. It's as plausible an explanation as any offered here, imo.
The Bolded part of your comment shows a "HUGE" contradiction !!! - The Six TD game in Arizona - The OT win in New England - The Win against the undefeated Titans are just a few of his games that were much better than your "far from spectacular" rating of Favre !!
exception of a few games you dope... that means 3 or 4. wow, you bold the part that you think you can destroy, and then you support his claim perfectly.... you are a pathetic fail.
I'm still waiting for him to make a damn decision....seriously i shouldn't take almost 2 months to make a decision in something
He is waiting to see if the Jet's Organization "Seriously" wants him back. I believe it really is that simple !!!
I wish people would stop saying favre is 40, it's starting to make some people think he'll be 41 next season. He's currently 39, and won't be 40 until halfway through the upcoming season in October (assuming he plays).
Cannot wait for Feb 27th when this circus is over and the Packers fans disappear back to the frozen tundra of Green Bay!! Burt faded badly over the season , cannot and will not do a full off season program so really its simple.........retire you old coot!
This thread is dumb. Let's end it with the truth. Favre is done, washed-up, old, and waaaaay overpaid. If he doesn't retire by the end of the month, the Jets should just cut him and be done with the failed "experiment." Then he can ride off and wreck another franchise for a year or two with his horrible Decembers and his months long off season decison-making about retirement.
Expect to hear that he has officially retired within the next 8 days and it will be done with no fanfare whatsoever.
So 13 million dollars, access to Woody's private jet, his own office and numerous other perks isn't enough? Tell him to retire, and take his turnovers with him.
I just posted an article I found: http://forums.theganggreen.com/showthread.php?t=42120&page=8 that says they expect an answer in about 10 days. I hope so, we need to close the chapter on this and move on.
The $13 million is in salary only and is not guaranteed. He is not owed a bonus. The Jets can definitely cut him with no cap hit. In fact, it frees up $13 million.
If that's the case, then cut his ass in the morning. I thought you couldn't cut a player without a cap hit. Hmmmm... His salary isn't guaranteed ?
No salaries are guaranteed until specific dates are passed. Cap hits come from the fact that when a player is released all of the remaining signing bonus (which is prorated over the length of the contract while the player is signed) immediately counts against the cap.
