I'd say its between DHB and Nicks myself. Don't pay attention to where they are going to be drafted - if we had to choose one, which would it be? I think DHB edges out Nicks because of his speed. They both have good hands and are good at getting yards after the catch. Don't fault DHB for playing on a crappy Maryland team - what if Crabtree had gone to Maryland and DHB had gone to Texas Tech. Crabtree could be a borderline 1st/2nd round WR and DHB could be the Top 5 lock according to draft experts.
Having a very good receiver who happens to be tall would be a great addition for the Jets, but getting one is less of a priority then fixing the holes in the defense and prehaps brining in a franchise QB if one falls to us. I would not want to pick a DHB or Nicks at 17. I'd rather wait a year for the very deep WR class that should be comming out in 2010.
Honestly, if Crabtree went to Maryland, no one would know who he was. He's got mediocre speed and in that offense, he'd put up mediocre numbers.
I like DHB's potential a lot, but I've changed my tune on which of the 3 I'd take: Hakeem Nicks. I didn't realize how fast he was - he has deceptive speed and his ability to gain yards, even break off big runs for TDs, after the catch is remarkable. He has great hands and I have never seen him drop a ball that should have been caught - I've only seen him catch balls that should have been dropped. While he isn't your prototypical deep threat the Cardinals showed that you don't need a speedy deep threat WR to have a very good passing game. For that speed WR we do have Clowney however. It's a toss-up between Britt and Nicks; Britt has more speed and is maybe taller (I have seen him listed from 6'1'' to 6'4'') but still needs to put on some more weight, while you have Nicks, who has great quickness, great hands, and is an overall tough guy to tackle Both Britt and Nicks will be good-to-elite players in the NFl; you almost can't miss with selecting either of these two. Britt doesn't have anywhere near Nicks or even DHB's ability to run after the catch. If you've seen any tape of him - even his highlight tapes - once he catches the ball he gets tackled. If Britt gets a touchdown it is usually he beats the defender before he gets the ball or there is no one in front of him when he catches it which won't happen often in the NFL. If you want someone like Britt there is Marko Mitchell which is basically a poor man's version of Britt (but not by much).
Wow, I'm actually surprised by the way this thread has went so far. To me, it's Britt, then Nicks, then DHB. Britt has the best grouping of size, speed, and physicality in the draft at the position. I've seen every game the kid's ever played, and the only time he ever lets you down is when he has mental lapses and drops easy passes (not often, but enough to make it memorable). Britt might not be Dre/Calvin physically, but he's built very well, and could easily add ten pounds on his frame. I would even argue that's he's most likely the pure strongest of the 3. Britt's definitely not where the others are as far as making people miss in the open field, he's not that kind of athlete, but he's definitely go no problem running away from people. Also, Britt has superior body control, and can adjust very well to wherever passes are thrown (thanks Mike Teel).

Agreed. I think I posted earlier that we shouldn't go WR in 1st. We have too many other needs. However, if FA fills some starters/holes, and Nicks is there in R2, then my opinion is we should scoop him up without thinking twice.
well me and you are in the same boat, last year i wanted a WR very early and we got Keller, I was extatic having seen him in college. fast forward and coles replacement needs to be found. im all for defense in rd1, (i could see Tyson Jackson at 17 to fortify DE or obviously a DB) but my favorite player in the draft is Jeremy Maclin. if he was there at 17 and we pulled the trigger id be jumping. that being said like i said same boat, Nicks IMO is the 2nd best WR in this draft. I see Maclin/Nicks as being pro ready now. Crabtree has great upside, might not run a nice 40 but has gamespeed, but the system always makes you wonder and for all the circus catches he makes he drops some easy ones. so yea long story short Nicks in the 2nd would be a FUCKING STEAL.
IMO Dhb has the most upside of the 3...though Nicks is the most polished and is frankly very underrated.
Kenny Britt without a doubt for me, he isn't the quickest, but he can really go up and get the ball, i think we need that.
