I could see Ray Lewis going to Dallas. They need a guy like him on Defense more than we do. They are closer to winning than we are, and I'm quite sure he would rather go to a team that is close to winning. Unless he can't stand Jerry Jones.
As a matter of fact, he would be perfect for Dallas. He would bring in the Brass Balls on Defense that Phillips wish he had.

Actually Ray is a complete LBer... I've seen him break up many passes in his time, that's more of th attraction for me, because I feel our LBers are not the best pass defenders.. and Ray would defientetly change some of that.

Here's the way I look at at potentially signing Ray Lewis. If he still can play close to the level that he did this past season for another 2-3 years then I'm OK with it. Unfortunately life doesn't work that way and the man does have a lot of miles on him. What happened to Curtis is what really scares me about Lewis. One year Curtis led the league in rushing then the bottom fell out almost immediately the following season. Granted, that was directly related to injury, but the point is they both play positions of maximum collisions and that toll, I believe, plays a bigger negative factor than just his age.

On the flip side, yeah he could definitely bring the intensity up on D. Plus, there doesn't seem to be any iconic player with leadership abilities that could try to be 'the' leader of this team instead of Ray. LC could've been that guy, but c'mon, the guy just bitches/whines/complains way too much to be considered a vocal leader.

Veteran leadership is a requirement on any team, and is even more important when a new coach is taking over. Having a vet from the Ravens would make it easier for Ryan to implement his system here. And if that vet is Ray Lewis? It can only help the transition.

6 months ago he was a "murderer", now everyone wants him on the team.

i defended him then, i would like to have him now. i unlike many others do not shift my opinion based upon what is best for me.

    its a shame really.

Maybe it's just me but a team that hasn't played in a Super Bowl in 40 years the goal should be to be the best team you can be right now and not worry about the long term. This team was built to win now not 5 years from now.

the 05 team?? It was there, but then the injury bug raped this team of any shot...

never be the team picked to win it all in the pre-season... its a death knell.
