You can actually see the current stadium in the cam if you scroll all the way too the right. The UD of the new stadium does look significantly higher.
I took a picture from the mezz looking DOWN at the spirals.that's right looking down.its just a monster.
First, I'm not religious at all so keep your Bible reading to yourself. Second, my "snide" remark was simply that I don't trust what you write here because you've been wrong so many times before that's it hard to take you for your word. Even now, with this back and forth, someone else posted another article stating that the Giants' owners would rather walk away than put a roof on. That contradicts what you wrote, but is actually a little more current. I would rather believe a quote from one of the owners than something in the article from four years ago that wasn't.
It looks higher and it also looks like there aren't as many seats in the upper because of the setback. In the "old" stadium the upper come forward and covered the Mezz (the front rail was directly above the front rail of the Mezz), but the new uppers don't appear to do that. So now, not only are you higher, you're also further removed. so as 17A is describing what he saw, one can get a good idea of what he's talking about with this webcam thing. So this is all very delightful, of course. We've made a very valuable trade-off. We've traded excellent vision and sightlines, excellent proximity to the field and the ability to watch a live Jets game without the use of biniculars for five-star restaurants and an upscale stadium "environment." So no longer can you expect to pay for a ticket in the uppers and actually watch the game with the naked eye without the use of some sort of distance-enhancing optical device. If you want that, you need to pay more. Pay more for the seat and pay more initially for the PSL. Then you don't have to bring your binoculars. A very good deal all around I would think.
Remember though, we'll have those four giant screens  Actually, they'll need all four considering that's how most people will wind up watching the game.
That's even better yet, I can watch the game on the giant TV screen. Hey wait a minute.... If I'm going to watch the game on a giant TV screen... uhhhh..... ummmm... hmmmm....
That about describes it in a nutshell. It IS a monster in size. Only trouble is, it's the same number of seats. So, what they've done is spread it all out and put the seats further away from the playing field. What a ridiculous nightmare. Is it too late for us all to donate a Grand each and ask Woody to demolish it?
And for the price of the tickets, I can put one hell of an entertainment system in the family room, not to mention the unrestricted accessibility to refreshments.
im at work had no time to upload the photos last night. hopefully i can put together a full report witht he pictures.lots of nice stuff in this stadium. really a beauty. but then when the price tag is told, any middle class ticket holder is pushed out. really i would sit in the mezz its awesome with the bars , food and plasma's.then they drop the $25,000 psl for the 50 per seat. you calculate about how to manage that. ok a 5 year plan its $4,813 per seat.15 years thats $2,337 per seat. but wait now you have to pay $500 per game x 10.thats $5000 per seat a year. i have 2 and want 4. $20,000 a year!!!!! for 4 out of my 6 family members to go to a stinking football game?????? and $100,000 for the PSL????? oh but we only need 20% up front. 20% of $100,000 is $20,000 due today!!!!!!!!!! they offered me row 1 mezz 50 yard line 4 seats aisle visitors bench. that is dream seats. but look at the price.... WE ARE FUCKED
for those who have already received the booklet, look at pg 23. the parking situation, yellow is for suits oh im sorry suites, the light green is PSL owners AND THEN on the outskirts will be the upper deck people. so not only are you further away from the action, your car is farthest away from the stadium.
That's a double screwing. The thing that adds the most time getting home from a game is the time you have to spend getting out of the parking lot. It's a killer, unless you have a plan. I used to get there early and park my SUV near Gate C, but right by the exit to the access road. This way, when the game is over, you head down the escalator, walk the short distance to the vehicle, jump in and you're already out of the lot and into mainstream traffic headed to the NJTP. The rest of the fans are sitting in bumper-to-bumper in the lot itself, so this always worked well and I'm home in 25 minutes. But now, with this cockamamie setup (and probably added traffic snarls created by parking lots that have you "routed" or "channeled in" for extra safety) it is going to slow you WAY down. You'll kill many extra minutes walking to a distant location, then sitting in "parking lot traffic," so for every one extra minute it took you to get to your car, it's going to cost you 12-15 minutes of time before you even get the hell out of the parking lot. It's bad enough that game day is basically from 9AM to 5PM, door to door, but if you're adding another hour to it because of this new policy, that's something else to consider too. I knew Woody would figure out a way to screw the Uppers just a little bit more. We're double fucked.
I'm beginning to wonder if I should even bother taking the tour. They're only going to get my hopes up by showing me outrageous seats that I can't afford. Then you go upstairs and realize how fucked you really are. Kinda like going to a Victoria's Secret convention and getting yourself all worked up and then being told the only available model is Rosie O'Donnell. WTF?
This is all great information, regardless of it being good or bad. Being informed is the best we can all do at this point to make the proper decisions. I'm sure I can speak for most when I say thank you, and we would LOVE to see the pics from the tour.
I called my dad on Thursday to confirm our seniority, apparently we go back to '83. Unfortunately, he said if our new UD seats are going to be worse than our current ones, he'll consider the 4-5K PSLs. God damnit.
