I mentioned Cleveland because Belicheat wasn't a very good coach there and suddenly they start taping signals and they become Super Bowl Champions. There's a fin line between winning and losing in this league and up til last year when Brady went off the charts to set all kinds of records, he was always a solid QB that won a lot of close games.

If Brady didn't have all these tainted Super Bowls I don't think people would hold him in as high of an esteem....that's all I am saying.

Peyton Manning is in a league of his own in my opinion. He makes the team. He makes his WR's better, he makes his RB's better, he has a solid O-line that helps him, but its all Peyton Manning. The Colts struggled at the beginning of the year when Manning was not 100%, which proves my point even more. Tom Brady is great, but a system quarterback. Everything fell into place for him, if Manning was drafted elsewhere, he still would be this good. Big Ben is not near either of them in my opinion. Don't judge by Super Bowl rings, Manning is clearly better than both in my opinion. No contest.

this is a great point... you could debate that manning is the best QB of all times. (probably not, but its debatable.) When you look at the QBs in the league only steeler fans see Big Ben and think he is one of the top tier guys... He runs way to much when he isnt fast, he is not as tough as people think he is (he allways gets hurt), he makes REDICULOUS passes, he has never LEAD his team to a SB victory and I personally think Byron Leftwich is better.

I dont know what people see in big ben... All he does is run around like a retard, there is a reason he is the most sacked QB every year and its not his O-Line... Lets look back to week 9 on monday night football, Steelers vs Redskins... The redskins have a good defense. What did big ben do? Lets see he went 5/17 with 50 passing yards, no TD's and 1 pick. then Byron came into the game and took controll, he went 7/10 with 129 passing yards, no picks and 1 TD...

Byron Leftwich is better, Big Ben is just popular. You put Leftwich in that superbowl and it wouldnt have even been close. Byron has just had a run of bad luck in his career... If i were a Jets fan I would love to get him on the team to at least let him try to win the starting spot (from whoever has it now weather it is Favre or Clemmons.)

    Big Ben = Mediocre QB

If Big Ben is mediocre...then I happily accept being "average" People forget this was only his 5th year in the league. He's still getting better.

Fixed, though it seems like it's difficult for you to understand the difference.

I agree with you on this one Junc. Big Ben makes plays when it counts. Huge plays. He has a strong arm, very good pocket presence and escapability. He has been one of the most sacked QB's in the last few years and managed to play well through the adversity and pain.

Durablity, a big arm, and makes big plays when it counts. Exactly the type of QB I would love on the Jets.

    2 SuperBowls....
9 for 21 with 123 yards 0TD's and 2 Picks against the Seahawks
    21 for 30 with 256 yards 1TD's and 1Pick against the Cards
(YEAH... he really earned 2 rings with those two MONSTER performances!)

Antwaan Randle El has as many Superbowl touchdown passes as he does!!!

you seem to have difficulty understanding football in general......and that list of QB's you provided earlier in this thread is proof of that.

    thanks for coming out though.

Like I have stated earlier in this thread, these kind of statements piss me off. Giving Ben all the credit for these titles is a joke. The first one he had THE WORST QB performance in Super Bowl history for a winning QB. Then Sunday he played average at best, except for the final drive that was mostly due to Holmes.

You guys are all entitled to your opinion.

But i will say this...I will take all the shitty stats, the sacks he takes or whatever else you find wrong with him....any day of the FUCKING WEEK.....because the bottomline is...he wins games.

The Steelers had the toughest schedule in the NFL...and won the SuperBowl. I"m not a Steeler fan by any means...but for anybody who's a fan of the NFL, can appreciate the intestinal fortitude Mike Tomlin's team has put forth this past season. I hope the Jets can at least muster HALF of that effort this upcoming season.

I'm sorry....deadbeats like Jeff Garcia have done SQUAT in this league and couldn't lick Roethlisberger's balls on his best day......

Yes, they want Brees to play defense, too. These people are out of touch with reality. Hey, how 'bout some Hall & Oates?

I know, but the debate is about Big Ben as an overall player. If he was on the Jets this year they would not have went to the Super Bowl. If he was on the Ravens, they might have gone to the Super Bowl. See what I mean? I don't feel he carries the team, because he doesn't. The defense does.

The defense plays a role...and Ben plays a role. That's what a team is. Are you telling me that Byron Leftwich would've carried that team thru the playoffs if Ben couldn't play ,because their defense would pick up the slack?? C'mon NYJ2K09, I thought you were smarter than that.

I"m not saying that Ben would have taken the Jets to the Super Bowl...but you don't know if he would've or not either. So that's a moot point.

But he's got the pedigree and the experience to do it. And i would kill to have that on the Jets. The guy is an elite QB.
