I can't stand it when a guy tries to throw cold water on a terrific idea like these PSLs and then backs it up with historical facts. Don't you just hate that?

I still don't get it. Every season ticket holder knows how much their seats have gone up in the last xx years. We all know that the seats are going to increase in the future. I fully understand that once I commit to the psl, I have the right to my seat, and have to pay the ticket price woody charges me every year.

I know that I will be able to eventually sell this PSL. There has been a market for the rights to buy Jets seats for years. The only things that really changes here is that Woody is now collecting for the right to purchase the seat, instead of this asset simply residing (for free mind you) with the season ticket holder. And if you don't believe that this is an asset, I will forward on to you my Accounting 101 textbook.

10 years ago, if you couldn't afford your tix, what would you do? You would likely sell the right to the tix, right? Please explain to me what the difference is here. And i don't want to hear your opinion that they will charge me this fee and that fee in the future for things that you believe will be put in place (e.g. domes). If Woody starts to charge a fee for the tix that I can;t afford, i will sell the rights to the highest bidder. Will I get the full amount I paid back, maybe, maybe not. That depends on how well the Jets are doing and the market for the rights. Point is, i have that option.

I apologize for being a bit snippy. This was an intelligent discussion before 227 started posting bullcrap that mocked other posters. After reading his posts I got a little pissed off.

If I'm pissing you off by pointing out the obvious, perhaps we should end our discussion for your sake. It's not good to allow board posts to piss you off. And we certainly don't want emotion to cloud your thinking on this excellent investment.

Your opinion is that the PSL is a terrific idea. I'm sure that it isn't. And while I could continue to easily make quite reasonable and salient points about the entire subject of resale, that might piss you off too, and we certainly don't want that.

My advice is, don't listen to me or anyone else against PSLs, because it'll only piss you off. Instead, give Nick a call immediately and report back to us when the deal is consumated. After all, that's what's best for everyone.

Please point out where i said it was a terrific idea. Is that the strategy now? Write things on a message board that are not true?

You believe that by paying a psl, you are committed to paying more and more in the future. I don't. It's as simple as that, yet your belief is somehow better than anyone else on this board. Most people have simply stopped trying to talk with you. I haven't, and I guess that my mistake as this is my first lenghty disussion on these boards (Although i have been reading them daily for years).

Your snide remarks is what annoys a lot of people on this board. I'm obviously not the only one. I hope we can have respectful discussion sin the future.

I will report back my experience once I know where my seats are and let everyone know how the PSL process went.

Not to fear. My advocacy is cast in stone. Never before have I encountered a more sensible investment.

I don't know where you're coming from pal, but I don't want to engage in "discussion sin" with you now or at any time in the future.

Jets have my account start date wrong

Jesus. Having read posts from people who have received their "packs" weeks ago, I wondered why I still have a week to go to receive mine, so I called the ticket department today. They have my season ticket start date two years later than it actually is. I can't believe it. (1981 vs. 1979)

I sent them a letter via fax, and suggested legal action if they can't figure out their mistake. The guy I spoke to suggested I try to find proof. 30 years ago? I actually found a stub from 1980, but none of my 1979's. I put the word out to my buddies who went to games with me then. maybe some more ticket stubs can be found.

I am looking for remnants of the Flying Lawnmower crash that occurred in December of my first season. Hopefully that'll be enough proof for them.

Anyone else have an issue like this? Have you checked your info with them?

According to the NYJs there current computer sysytem began 01/01/77 so I would guess that the date they have for that other poster is correct

Yes my issue is I began in 65 but according to the NYJs all records were "lost" between 1960 & 12/31/76 so they gave me a starting seniority date of 01/01/77

Yes, there will be some degree of disappointment from every ticketholder before this is all over.

Just had a call from the ticket office confirming my transfer. "Rick" reassured me that I won't be losing any seniority by transferring into my son's name but he said something curious... "Yes, because you're transferring the whole account," I guess meaning all four seats.

I don't know, I didn't question it. All I know is, my account is in my son's name now, so whatever seats we wind up with (if they're PSL-free) will be okay for at least another 30-40 years. By then we'll need another new stadium and another set of PSLs.

This is the first time I ever heard this and I have been following this Stadium issue pretty closely over the years.

From everything I have read and heard, the Mara and Tisch families have been and still are adamantly opposed to a dome.

Do you have a link or confirmation to some piece of information I may have missed ??

    Sure...if you don't mind:

    1. Is the stadium, as it's currently being constructed, being fitted for possibly adding a dome to it in the future?

    2. Approximately when will people on the waiting list be contacted about possible PSL's?

    3. If someone currently on the waiting list doesn't want to purchase PSL seats, but would purchase non-PSL seats, can they remain on the waiting list each year until seats open up in the UD?

    and

    4. Is there going to any type of guarantee basically saying that ticket prices won't increase for the first x number of years? (I know it's doubtful but it doesn't hurt to ask)

    :)

Similarly, I'd be curious if later-tenured ticket holders can refuse PSLs as well but be given priority when UD seats open up. I'm a 1992 and won't be buying a PSL. If not I suppose I should get on the waiting list as well now.

I think I can answer this question but there's no harm in having him ask or in calling the ticket office.

You'll be contacted in order of your priority (based on your seniority) for the PSLs. Then, if you refuse, you'll be contacted again in May in the same order of priority for the PSL-free Uppers. If there are any left at that point, you'll have the next dibs at whatever is left.

This is my understanding of the process. Someone correct me please if I am wrong.
