well LSU has got itself one monster of a class thus far. I would be so happy if we got Trent Richardson but Im skeptical. Im surprised about Montgomery. Overall though Les Miles did an amazing job this year of getting some great recruits

Carolina's class is looking very nice. Alshon Jeffery chose the Gamecocks over Southern Cal.

Our 2009 class is loaded big time players...

So far, only one last minute surprise for the Rebs. Marlon Brown, a 4* WR, was supposed to come to Ole Miss but he went to Georgia instead.

Nutt only recruited 4 kids from in the state today. Normally we do better by signing day for a school that competes with MS State, USM, LSU, Bama, Ark, GA, and pretty much the whole country for recruits. The in state competition is bad enough.

A lot of Arky trolls on the Ole Miss boards have been saying Nutt can't recruit, blah blah blah, no quarterbacks, blah blah blah..Raymond Cotton signed at Ole Miss..that's a 4 star QB. http://www.olemiss.rivals.com/viewprospect.asp?Sport=1&pr_key=79218

Stars aint shit, and we don't have too many of them, but overall this is the most underrated class in my tenure here.

rhodesfan16 - coming to Oxford this year?

If you ever get a chance to go to an Ole Miss/LSU game in Oxford, do it. LSU usually buys about half the seats in the stadium, the grove is usually split, and the cops are good about keeping the violence to a minimum. You should check it out.

I did the whole Baton Rouge thing..I like the bars not closing til 3 AM..and the drive through daiquri stores.

Oh ok so you're not in the area then, my bad.

On a lighter note, I heard a rumor Les Miles renamed the LSU offensive scheme to the Spreadneck Offense. Can you confirm or deny this?

    FSU Fan here.

Not as impressive as usual, used to having a top 5, but we still cracked the top 10 IMO.

    especially with

DT Jacobbi McDanniels- rated 1 DT by ESPN and 2 By Scouts Inc.
DB Greg Reid- rated number 4 CB and number 1 Coverage Back By Scouts Inc, Number 1 CB by ESPN
ATH Willie Downs-, Number 3 ranked athlete at 6 ft 2 192 hes got great size, probably a safety but with the dismissal of Preston Parker maybe WR
WR Rodney Smith-8th ranked WR. Not a blazing 40 but a typical 6 ft 6 red zone target. I'm sure he'll get faster within the next 4 yrs.
RB-Chris Thompson- The guy is amazing in space one of the few prospects I've seen footage of hes ranked the number 2 all purpose back.
DE-Demonte McCallister-Hell of a pickup to go with McDaniels at DL ranked number 4 by scouts inc. great size out of HS at 6 ft 3 263. displays the strength of an interior lineman with great athletiscism.

theres plenty more but its good to see some of these pickups. Im still excited to see what comes of EJ Manuel last years number 1 pro style QB who redshirted for us

Just got my hand on the scout rankings. OM finishes at 16, MS State at 18, Petrino at Ark netted in 20.

LSU finished at 3. Good job for you guys. Bama at 2.

Love it. Houston Nutt can recruit, my worries have been addressed.

    Coach K, FSU at 17.

Rankings dont mean much, but like in golf, if you're on the front page you're doing something right.

I cant find the ESPN rankings, I dont think that Bama's class is that much better but I since there picks came so late I think it gave them momentum.

With that being said I think the Tigers will beat Bama next year

Johnson, Kirkpatrick, Richardson, and Fluker give Bama the edge. All 4 are beastly.

LSU should beat Bama, but don't expect anything at Ole Miss. This year was our egg and magnolia bowl redemption, next year, I think we'll even stop the tide from rolling through Oxford with a win.

I believe the West will come down to the Tigers and the Rebels with an occasional threat from Arkansas. If either of those teams can win in Atlanta, I believe they will be set for a national title game. Ofcourse, the Rebels, like the Jets have taught me anything can happen, and this time next year someone might bump this thread to give me shit about an 0-8 SEC record.

lets not get ahead of ourselves. I feel glad for your coach who snubbed all the Arkansas fans but I think the Rebels are one more good recruiting class away from being an elite SEC team (even though an average SEC team could fuckin mop a good team from another conference). But the Rebels will be a good team this year definitely a top 20 team probably top 15. But the big boys are still LSU, Bama, and UF, its going to be fun to watch Georgia struggle though

Mr. E, I forgot you went to South Carolina... Any word on why Spurrier pulled his offer to Tucker, GA linebacker Jonathan Davis? Was it just his size?

No, it wasn't size - he was going to play safety for the Cocks.

They pulled his offer because he's immature. He stopped answering phone calls, and then left Shane Beamer (safeties coach) a voicemail full of profanity, saying something like they weren't treating him with the respect he deserved.

I think they saw too much of Emanuel Cook in him - bad attitude, all about himself, so on and so on.

I hope Davis does well for UCF though.
