If life was a Madden game, Big Ben is like the QB with that cheat card that allows the QB to never get sacked. Honestly, I've never seen more tackles shaken by a single person playing that position. So f**king elusive. That's what makes him so great.
QBs are often measured by what they do in the final minutes of the game, and you are playing the "what if" game.
That final drive was incredible. That's how I define greatness. I'd take 2 perfect passes in the end zone over counting on my kicker, and that's why I take Roth over Brady any day of the week. Props to Warner too though. 3 highest passing yards games in SB history, most total passing yards in SB history. 2 plays away from 3 total SB rings, and likely 3 total SBMVP awards. He took the best defense in the league to the brink...
WOW that defense sure has made his life so fucking simple.... all he has to do it kneel the ball down to win because that Steel Curtain has done all the work for him....DURRRRRRR Anyone who has had the above argument knows nothing.
having a great defense does help, but those who think that its all defense don't see the big picture. And if he doesn't have the defense, it turns into a Palmer/Brees kind of thing. That's why its a team game.
Ben is way good. I would put him in the top 5 behind Peyton Manning, a heathly Tom Brady, Drew Brees then Big Ben or Rivers. I would welcome him on my team in a heartbeat
My opinion on ben is that is a great qb and probably a furture HOF, but he isn't as good as people think. He has always had an amazing defense and a very good offense. He was put into a situation where he could not fail pretty much. You put any starting qb on that team they wuld win atleast 1 superbowl. The defense sets up ben 90% of the time and that is why he is so good. When big ben gets into the hall of fame he better thank his defense because that is probably the big reason on why he is considered an elite qb.
moore and Parker combined for 59 yards on 20 carries and a whopping 2.9 ypc. eww. Big Ben/Holmes were the offense. BTW, Polamalu was isolated the whole game playing the "Kerry Rhodes defense" which means he was 20 yards off the ball so the big play never happened. It might add some insight to why Kerry looked so invisible all year.
Goin' alphabetically here.. Drew Brees Marc Bulger Brett Favre Jeff Garcia Matt Hasslebeck Donovan McNabb Carson Palmer Chad Pennington - Yeah. I said it. Aaron Rodgers Tony Romo Kurt Warner A couple others could give him a run for his money and there are a few who are too young to tell.
