Don can you give us a break down on which of those 9 picks were tipped? 1) Dre Bly Denver 2) Walt Harris San Fran 3) Mcgee Buffalo 4) Posnulsky 5) Josh Wilson 6) Josh Wilson 7) Goodman 8) Goodman 9) Merling
Nope...........Are you saying none were? I seem to remember hearing 4 were. They had a whole piece on it on ESPN about two weeks ago. Actually, what they said was that at least four of those picks should have been caught. Some were tipped and I think in at least one case the receiver fell down.
Johhny you forgot to mention that the Seattle game was played in a blizzard vs. a back up QB & 5 back up O lineman. Our O could use the weather as an excuse for not scoring points what is the D's excuse ?
No I was just looking actual stats on it. The ones I remember were the three horrible Miami picks which were not picked. One of the wilson picks was a horrible chuck ball. I think the dre Bly pick was a chuck ball. that's five and I don't remember any others.
Our O averaged 27 points per game our D was 31st in the league out of 32 teams in pass D & after the 8 & 3 start our D got ran over. Bronco game Cutler 357 yards Hillis there 5th string running back 129 yards. 9er game Hill 285 yards Gore got hurt & they still rushed for over 100 yards. Bill game they ran all over us at home for 178 yards. Seahawk game 5 backup O line guys a back up QB & there back up running back Morris 116 yards IN A BLIZZARD. Miami game 126 rushing yards YEA IT WASNT OUR D IT WAS ALL FAVRE.
Dreessen I remember at least 4 picks this year that hit both of our WR'S in both hands that they dropped that went for picks 2 for Coles 1 each for Keller & Stuckey.
Yeah, were talking about the last 5 games where he had 9 picks. Amazing that the last 16 games Favre has played in December he has 30 interceptions.
And I remember a dozen that were dropped by defenders that should have been picks. What exactly is your point?
Maybe doing yard work in Mississippi isn't an adequate off season training program for a man in his late 30s/40 who plays NFL football. Just a thought.
I'm conflicted on this. To me, if Favre had stayed retired we'd have kept Chad, whom I like, probably won the division or at least made the playoffs, meaning we'd have kept Mangini, whom I also like. But on the other hand, I'm pretty excited about Rex Ryan being our coach. My gut tells me he could be a great coach and an upgrade from Mangini, and to me coaching is everything in the NFL. So now I'm thinking it may have worked out better for us in the long run, like Kotite eventually bringing us Parcells. I realize I'm an optimist, but what the hell else do I have to do?
Jets deny Favre given 'months' to decide http://www.newsday.com/sports/football/jets/ny-spfarve026021734feb02,0,7183726.story
I agree with you. I was a Mangini fan and if Chad was the qb last year the Jets would have made the playoffs. They probably lose early and Mangini gets an extension and we are stuck with Chad and the glass cieling that comes with him. I think a big part of why Tannenbaum wanted Favre was that it was an easy way to move on from Chad. As much as i respected Chad he just is a limited player. I'm excited about Ryan I think he will be a very good head coach. I expect Favre to retire so the end result of everything from last off season is we get the end of Chad, Favre and Mangini. We give up a third round pick and we get Rex Ryan. Not exactly a good trade but they needed to move on from Pennington. I'm excited about this team going forward, the roster is drastically better then what Mangini inherited. We have a solid front office, a good coaching staff and a good core of players.
I think we've been through this before. Last year was the first year (in recent memory anyway) that he did not do offseason conditioning. Which was understandable, given that he was first retired, then locked out by his team. This idea that he never does offseason conditioning is a fiction someone here or in the media has created, and people looking for excuses to gripe have jumped all over it like dogs on steak. If you want me to try to dig up articles that prove he did do offseason conditioning in 2006 and 2007 (years that I can remember reading articles where he details what he did), I can try. But I guess I'm leaning towards not wasting my time doing that, because let's be honest, people think what they think here, no one is coming here to form opinions based upon facts, they come here to post and read the facts that support their opinion.
if the Jets allow it to, they are their typical vaginal selves. If they actually take a stand against Favre's wavering, I'd be impressed.
Please explain how the term "wavering" applies to this situation; where Favre has clearly been given time by the Jet's org to decide on his future? I'd be impressed if you could !!!
